had the awesome nasi lemak and otah here. There are many different flavours available for the otah and the choices are wide. The nasi lemak is pretty good as well! Love that it is fresh and the rice is very tasty! The ingredients are abundant too! The service is very good and they will make sure they make the otah hot for your consumption and will never sell it cold! GOOD!

There are many good food stalls located at East Coast Lagoon Food Village, one of my fav stall is the Defu otah stall. This otah stalls sells many unique and different types of otah like the chili crab, stingray and sambal prawn otah. As i have never tried the chili crab otah before, i order one to try. The otah is grilled to warm it up when you order it. The otah is fragrant and it has chunks of crab meat in it. The otar taste good and it is not too spicy.

It definitely caught my attention when i spotted the Chilli Crab Otah amongst others. I have never came across a Chilli Crab Otah so far. Chatted with the auntie a little while she heat up my otah by putting it on the grill. She said, 'No one is interested to make chilli crab otah anymore.' She added, 'A lot of hard work involved and people did not seem to appreciate because of the pricing.' Each Chilli Crab Otah is at $2.00. It is definitely more expensive than the usual range of otah. I decided to try it out of curiosity. It was quite a big piece but taste wise, it was pretty average, itsy bitsy pieces of crab meat embedded in the otah paste. It was a little salty and spicy.I appreciate the innovative thought of creating something different from its competitors but if given the choice to choose between this and the normal otah, i would go with the normal ones.

It sells solely Otah and nothing else. $1.20 each but when you purchase 6, you'll get it for the price of a dollar each($5 for 6). The mackerel Otah wrapped in banana leaf brings one's senses alive. I love Otah as a nonya snack as it gives me my boost without feeling too much guilt. Defu's otah are handmade, hence the soft texture and it only requires gentle chewing. On a spicy lover's point of view, it could be better if the spiciness gets leveled up for better kick.
