Merlion Wayfarer visits OC regularly, and has been to various restaurants there. So far, she had not tried Genki Sushi because of the looooong queues there. Apparently Genki Sushi seemed to be the only eatery in OC that diners have to queue - Seats are guaranteed in the other eateries, at times some of the restaurants look sadly empty too.
Well, Merlion Wayfarer did not know how or what Genki Sushi was like, except that it was just another "conveyor belt sushi restaurant". So when the queue was really short (only one group in front), she decided to risk her stomach and join the queue.
And she was really amused when she finally realized why - The conveyor belt beside her table was more than a single lane conveyor belt. Instead, it was a full three lanes of a food dispensing system!
Once the order has been placed on the iPad located at every table near the conveyor belt, the order will be sent to the kitchen. Confirmed orders cannot be cancelled. A few minutes later, the lights at each table will start blinking, and a car / train / space shuttle will arrive. No prizes for guessing what will be located on the vehicle!
Merlion Wayfarer finished off the meal with a mocha platter. The platter consisted of three fishball-sized mochis - black sesame, green tea with azuki, and peach. It was certainly a good way to top off the meal with a sweet treat!
