When you walk up to Geylang Serai Market Food Centre with an intention to tuck into a good plate of nasi briyani, you will probably be confused as there are many stalls selling this popular indian dish, all claiming to be selling the best plate of nasi briyani. I, for one, have tried all the stalls(not in one day of course) and concluded that this stall offers the best in Geylang market, and one of the best in Singapore. My choice of briyani would definitely be the mutton briyani. The meat is juicy, tender, succulant and well-marinated with spices. You can peel the meat easily off the generous chunk of mutton, and taste the spicy and "muttony" flavor of the meat. The rice is soft, fragrant, fluffy and consistent. The gravy is thick and not short of flavoring, just the way I like it. The serving provided is generous; more than enough for one person.The staffs are also friendly too.

Brought a plate of the mutton briyani during lunch time. This plate of briyani comes with some archar and a bowl of gravy. The mutton is actually hidden inside the briyani rice. The briyani rice is different from the normal rice than we ate, this type of rice is actually longer in length, well cooked, grain by grain and not sticky and has a light spices taste. As for the mutton, it is well prepared, sufficiently cooked, has a very soft and tender texture and no scent of strong mutton taste. Lastly, the gravy is a bit watery, taste wise is a bit salty, has slight spices taste and goes well with the mutton and the briyani rice. Price at $5 per plate and also come in other choices such as chicken.
