Sleep late after drinking session and went city hall for lunch. Ordered Lasi LEMAK rice, Gado Gado and soya beans drink from Grandma's Resturant. Look nice and delicious to me or maybe I'm hungry. We had our lunch at Grandma's Restaruant as we wanted to try out their local arrays of dish, prepared in a conventional way, just the way Grandma used to cook it.We tried Grandma's fried rice as it was a promotion item, selling at $5.80 each. We ordered one plate each and as soon as they served it to us, we regretted our decision as the serving was huge! This restaurant offers a fusion of Chinese food and Peranakan cuisine. It is like a more atas Zichar place but with additional Nyonya dishes such as Beef Rendang and Assam fish. 5 years ago, I tried the Nasi Bojari at Madam Kwan’s at Suria KLCC and I simply couldn’t forget its luscious plate of tri-coloured rice with their signature fried chicken leg, beef rendang and assam prawns. Though Madam Kwan is also available in Singapore now at Vivocity, it just doesn’t feel and taste the same. The otah otah here is really good. This is restaurant style good quality otah otah where the dish comes in a large slap. There are chunks of fresh fish embedded in the otah and each piece of fish is flaky and smooh. The otah is just spicy enough and is great to accompany plain rice to sooth the heat. However the otah is not very big in size and hence doesnt go a long way.

This is my favourite main dish whenever I come here for lunch. The kway teow is always so smooth and chewy and filled with the nice fragrant from the dark sweet sauce used in cooking it. Moreover, there are also generous amount of ingredients cooked in it which includes crunchy prawns, squids, sliced fish and chicken meat. I have always passed by this restaurant but wasn't particular enticed by it because it sells common local food such as nasi lemak at less than reasonable prices. It was the only place without a queue so I decided to give it a try. I tried the nyonya cabbage - nothing special, your typical veggies. The only dish that was worth mentioning is the salted egg prawns - the gravy was quite good; but serving was rather little.

This restaurant has all the local foods that you want to eat. For me, I always buy their nasi lemak as it looks really interesting with all the side dishes on it and the coconut rice is very fragrant. Even the simple sliced cucumbers are very fresh and crunchy as well. Love the curry meat which is very tender and juicy, and also the curry gravy is not too spicy and very thick in texture too.

I have always thought that it is a expensive place but the food really taste not bad. The name of the restaurant makes me think of my grandma, and some of the food we could found in there is what some our grandma would normally cook.They even serve western food as well, so the variety is alot. It is suitable for children as well as there are fried food as well.I would definitely bring my parents along in future.

I met up with one of my close friend for sunday lunch after church and went in to this restaurant as there wasn't any customer inside then, so I thought I can get my food faster because I was really famished. I ordered the fried Hokkien mee without a second thought as I recall it was really nice when I ate it at Malaysia. I waited quite some time for my food to be served , and the food tasted really bad. My friend and I chanced upon this restaurant and decided to give it a try. We ordered the recommended dishes such as Deep Fried Chicken leg, Grandma's Heavenly Four Kings, Fried Prawns with Salted Egg and Tau Hu Goreng. All the dishes were great! The deep fried chicken leg's skin was really crispy on the outside and the meat was tender on the inside. The Heavenly Four Kings were actually stir-fried lady's finger, brinjal and long beans with sambal. The sambal tasted really well, not too spicy.
