Hainan Boneless Chicken Rice (已結業)

I have never try soup that taste so bad in my whole life before. Ordered their old cucumber soup with rice. I find the plain rice was hard and difficult to swallow. Their old cucumber soup doesn't have the taste of cucumber at all. In fact,it taste abit sour for my soup. Never finish the soup in the end,it was awfully bad. The old cucumber was not well cook,it was hard,like chewing apples (( Overall,it was very very BAD for their soup. Never Ever think of trying their soup in the first place.

This is one of the worst double boiled soup that I have even tried. I had ordered the double boiled lotus soup. At it costs $2.60 and the take away container costs $0.20. Rice another $0.50. The lotus soup did not have the lotus taste at all. All I can say is that the soup is slighty salty and sweet at the same time. Not worth the money at all. The lotus slices were still quite hard. The only best part of the soup were the pork ribs, still nice and tender but very small pieces with little meat.

Just felt like having roasted duck so went to Hainan Boneless Chicken Rice stall and bought half of the roasted duck. Asked the staff to chop it for me. It was nicely roasted and the skin was very tasty but the skin was not that crispy. It was not too oily. The duck meat was tender and moist, not dry. The duck was well marinated so that the meat tasted delicious. The portion was good for three to four person for sharing.

Went to order the stall's roasted duck tight leg. Although it's more more expensive as compared to normal duck meat, but one bite into the fleshy duck tight dipped with their special make balamchan will leave you longing for more. The roasted duck's skin was semi-crispy and it really taste wonderful. The flesh of the duck meat was very fresh as they roasted the ducks daily. It really satisfied my craving )

This was my first time to try their roasted chicken rice cause I am not a fan of the roasted chicken. To my surprise, the roasted chicken taste quite good but only abit dry. Guess maybe it's roasted, thus dry up the water in the meat. The rice was well done and cooked with chicken stock. You can smell the fragrant in the rice itself. And they gave three slices of the cucumbers and acceptable amount of roasted chicken meat. Can try it out!

I had tried their Hainanese chicken rice many times before and it is one of the items that I loved. This time round, I had the chicken rice again and added the chicken liver. It costs a total of $3.The chicken liver was fresh and not hard indicating they cooked it well. As for the hainanese chicken, it was well cooked too. The skin was smooth with a bit of oil but taste very nice. The meat was not tough. Depending on which part it came from, some were tender and moist while some were more dry. O

The "Wan Ton Mee" I bought that day was abit dry and got the noodles taste - we called this "the gan mei" in cantonese. Maybe they didn't change the water for cooking the noodles. It wasn't like that in the morning or afternoon. It comes with three wantons, but I must said the chai siew and vegetables they gave is generous. So my advice is to avoid buying the noodles for dinner, but highly recommended for breakfast or lunch.

The white chicken rice is a must try. The meat is tender and I got the chicken wing today in my rice I bought. But take note : some days they gave a bigger portion while some days a miserable thin pieces of chicken meat. You will have to see who is the one who chopped the meat. Today I got a generous portion of the wing and cucumbers too. I'm lucky for the day )

The roasted pork comes with a thin slices of the meat. Yes, normally is like that and I found it abit pricey with a few thin slices of miserable roasted pork at $2.50. Tried this a few times and wasn't really full after finishing the whole packet of rice At times, they forgotten my cucumber and I have to finish the rice with meat only. How sad !!!Now I avoid ordering their roast pork but once in a while, you sure have a craving for roast pork somehow...

Wanton noodles from the Hainan Boneless Chicken Rice stall. A bowl of wanton noodles costs $2.50 an if you want to take away, please add another $0.20 for the container. I had the dry version and this time round, it was cooked by another person. Oh my....the noodles had a very strong taste of something bitter. It is the ingredient that cause the water to turn yellowish when you cook certain types of noodles. That taste was so strong. Disappointed. The wantons were okay and I like the char siew.
