The mookata tastes average but it sure is value for money as it is a buffet. The marination of the meat wasn't very flavourful and the soup wasn't as tasty. Located at Golden Mile Tower, not to be confused with Golden Mile complex, the restaurant is located near the entrance of the carpark. This joint is pretty popular, however we thought it's pretty ordinary. The selection of food is okay. Meat wise, they have garlic or black pepper marinated chicken, pork or beef. There were some seafood choices such as prawns and squid. The rest were your typical steamboat ala carte menu. The price is pretty reasonable. We ate A LOT for slightly under $20 each. We were there on a weekday evening for dinner and there was not much people.Price per person was about $23.90 nett ,not inclusive of drinks.Service was pretty slow as there was only a middle aged uncle serving all the tables.Some of the items we had to order a few times before they finally came,and some orders were completely missed out.They should have crossed out or indicate lala (clams) were not available as we ordered 3 times it never came,finally we asked the uncle and he said it is no longer available on their menu.The buffet also included some fried items such as nuggets,popcorn chicken, Thai fish cake, fried tofu.But the waiting time may take about 15 minutes or more.The meat for the steamboat include standard chicken,pork,luncheon meat,prawns.Taste is ok.There is no airconditioning here as well.…查看更多

A friend recommended my to this place for Thai mookata and I was excited to try this place. The plus points- I felt it was really value for money. For just $23.90 per person, you get a wide selection of meats, seafood and veg to choose from. It is a eat all you can buffet style- just place your orders on a sheet of paper and they will return with the dishes. They give generous portions of meat and seafood- pork and chicken are very well marinated and cooks surprisingly quickly over the mookata pan. Seafood items include fresh prawn, squid and lala. Steamboat staples such as veg, enoki mushroom, fishballs were also available. They are however a little stingy over the fried items- but I got around that by ordering more. I actually enjoyed their crunchy popcorn chicken and tasty Thai style fish cake! Service was generally prompt- although it may not always be easy to catch the attention of the waitersNow the not so good points- the restaurant is open air concept located next to the entrance of a carpark. So imagine how hot and stuffy the place can get, plus you get to breathe in extra exhaust fumes every time a car drives pass. Thankfully, there weren't many card when I visited and I was sitting further away. A cold drink is a must to beat the heat- which they also serve for about $1.30 per can.Also, the mookata purists may not like the fact that they use steamboat style kerosene gas to heat up the mookata pan instead of the traditional charcoal. Was quite crowded when we reached the place on a Saturday night. Compared to other bbq/steamboat places, it's not as hot and stuffy. We ordered the assorted set which comprises of chicken, pork, prawns, sotong and some veggie. Quite like their concept of BBQ in the centre area and steamboat at the side. The meat was marinated, and tasted very juicy and yummy, especially the pork. The prawns were quite fresh, they did not have the stale taste. I like their chilli sauce (should be home-made), spicy with a slight tinge of sweetness. Goes very well with both the BBQ and steamboat food. The non-meat came in quite a variety, there was white cabbage, some greens, golden mushroom, etc. All looked and tasted quite fresh. I like the tunghoon too, goes very well with the soup. Went with 3 of my friends to Happy Mookata for dinner and to my surprise, there were no queue! In the past, I remembered queuing for 30mins before getting in. I guess the other mookata branches are getting more popular now too so the crowd here is slightly lesser. A plate full of meet. As we dont eat prawn, we changed all the prawn to pork. Located at the ground floor of Golden Mile Tower (near to the carpark entrance), I believe that they offer the cheapest thai steamboat buffet compared to the other mookata(s) around in Singapore. Even though their menu is not as "grand" as the others, but their menu does consist of the important dishes for steamboat = marinated meat, seafood, fried finger food and etc. One great thing about them is their operating hours are until quite late (after midnight) and they will not chase away their diners even when it is near closing time. We went there quite late and reach only about 10pm. Dine until 12am (we are the last customers...) and were not chased away. Taste wise... their soup is ok, but quite a bit of MSG we feel thirsty after drinking it. Their meat has only one marination - black pepper but that is ok with us. Dishes are quite fresh though. friend came here to eat before and it's my turn trying out..it is just next to the carpark entrance of Golden Mile Tower..here is their menu..overall is not bad..:) but we were wondering why even during peak hours,there is only 1 staff taking orders and serving orders..we have been encountering times that food are all cooked and eaten,we still need to wait quite awhile for other dishes to be served..:(however, i would like to emphasize this AWESOME chilli sauce..it has a slight spicy, sweet and sour taste..total damage for 2pax is $42.40..…查看更多
