This dimsum stall is located at one of the blocks near Clementi station. I heard from my mom that long queues are already formed in the morning and you have to be prepared to wait at least 15 minutes for your turn! Anyway, I ended school early today and decided to buy some paus for tea-time! I was surprised to see a coffee pau being sold there as I've never tried one before. I bought that and the kong ba pau, which is also not usually sold in many neighbourhood pau stalls. The coffee pau is really mini in size but so yummy! I can literally just pop 3 into my mouth! The kong ba pau is generously filled and each bite tasted so satisfying I also bought a Fan Choy which was good as well! I like that they are not stingy with their ingredients, and I guess this explains the long queues! 繼續閱讀

For more reviews, visit http://www.umakemehungry.com/2013/11/hong-ho-phang-hong-kong-tim-sum.htmlHong Ho Pahang Hong Kong Tim Sum is yet another hidden gem in Clementi area that had been drawing the hordes all these while. Located just opposite of the shopping malls under the HDB flats, it's quite rare that such traditional home made Tim Sum Stall were still making good despite of the commercialized Tim Sum located in the malls . On top of that, they had their busiest moment with helpers seen working non stop to match up with the incoming patrons during my visit.Rice Roll (Chee Cheong Fun) was delicate and smooth throughout. The sauces used tasted quite different from the normal ones I had tasted. Char Siew (BBQ) meat was chopped into smaller bits and wrapped in the core of the roll added with a handful of sesame seeds. Definitely a good choice for a start. The ratio of chicken and glutinous rice was about 1:1. Ingredients were generous and chicken meat was tender, not oily as I had expected and taste was quite consistent throughout. With the chopped spring onions added and well mixed with the chicken, it gave off an appealing tint of piquancy. Further more, the rice was moist enough.Siew Mai were small in size as compared to others. Overall, the meat fillings tasted fresh and bites of chestnuts were found. On the left, we had the char siew buns. The fillings were the same from the Chee Cheong Fun we had earlier. While most of us would have expected the char siew to be coated with gluey dark red char siew sauce that looked appetizing, Hong Ho Phang did the reverse. The fillings were straight forward, home made, yet still getting the kind of sweetness as much as a Char Siew Bun Fares. These bite sizes Baos were addictive.Mini Kong Bah Bao (Braised Pork Belly Bun) had caught me by surprised as not many Tim Sum places would had sell this especially this was more of a Hokkien Cuisine. Nevertheless, I would say it tasted quite standard, not too much of braised aroma could be found. Soft and Moist on the skin, what's else there to say? Delicious!Considering its the shop history, I would say they were reputable and had gained the trust of the customers on its quality and assurance of a decent Tim Sum Dining in the neighbourhood. Pricing was reasonable and well liked by all, no matter young or old. 繼續閱讀

century egg porridge $1.80the texture of this was very watery and is good to have if you are feeling under the weather. It tasted fine and the portion is quite small but is okay for the price since it is only $1.80Char Sao bao $60cents.The bun is light and fluffy and the fillings are substantial. There is nothing special about the taste though.Century egg & minced meat dumpling 2 pieces for $1.80.This tasted ok too. century egg and minced meat are wrapped in the dumpling, resembling wantons. The skin is not too thick so the fillings can be tasted easily. 繼續閱讀

There is always a long queue at this pau stall whenever I go during weekends. Although the queue is long, the queue moves pretty fast as well so I ended up only waiting for around 10 minutes before I got my order taken. There are quite a lot of varieties of paus. I got the coffee pau, normal tau sa pau and char siew paus. I love the coffee pau most. The coffee taste is not too strong but yet distinct enough to fully appreciate the flavour of the coffee. In addition, the pau is very worth it because the pau skin is thin and the filling inside is quite a lot. I could even have some left over filling to spread on my bread! Overall, it is definitely worth your time queuing. The paus are priced at 60 cents onwards. 繼續閱讀

This shop selling Hong Kong Dim Sum is quite popular in Clementi. Remember some years back, there's a craze for those Coffee bread and shops like Papa Roti, MaMa Roti can be seen almost every area of Singapore. Now, they have all disappeared but the traditional shops are still surviving well. This shop sells coffee buns. It's not difficult to differentiate the coffee buns from the normal ones as the skin is brown in colour. The aroma of the coffee is so strong even before you open the box it has already drifted out. Inside the coffee skined bun is the normal red bean paste. Have them while they are hot and you will never regrets. 繼續閱讀
