Hong Ji Claypot Bak Kut Teh (已結業)

Bak Kut Teh served here was in Hebal flavour in Claypot instead of Peppery soup which commonly found in Singapore. Not hard to find the location, the business was pretty good.Pipping hot while it came, the soup was just thick enough and thoroughly infused with Herbs and Spices. Pork Ribs were tender, able to scratch off their bones easily. By using Claypot, the soup was boiling and the fragrance spelt unstoppable. Ordered a bowl of bak kut teh ($4.50) and a bowl of rice ($0.50). It was nice to see that they served the bak kut teh in claypot so the soup was really hot and it was even tastier that way. The soup was hokkien style which is the darker version. The meat (4 pieces) was a bit tough and not as tender. I still prefer the teochew version. It has been awhile since I have Fen Chang. So today decide to come here to eat. I ordered a Claypot Fen Chang - $5.00 which consisted mainly of braised pig intestines. If you feel queasy about eating animal innards, just skip this dish. I was charged an additional $0.50 for a bowl of plain rice to go with it. Although the texture is al dente, but I still feel the innards is not thoroughly cleaned enough as it still tastes a bit powdery. I cannot taste herb in the herbal soup, taste more like dark soya sauce to me. So overall it is more like a generous serving of pig intestines braised in a soy-based sauce. The first poster I notice when I reach the coffeeshop is about this shop. Very big poster. It seems that this stall is a very famous outlet. There is also a rather long queue at the stall too.Order a claypot of bak kut teh ($4.50) and a bowl of rice ($0.50). The soup is not much of a flavour. Not much meat in the claypot.
