If you grew up in Hongkong or Malaysia in the 90's, chances are that you would have enjoyed many after-school trips to Hong Kong Kim Gary with your friends. The food is unabashedly B-rate, a bastardised hodgepodge of the east and west flavours. Compound that with value-for-money sets that helped stretch a limited allowance, Kim Gary was a teenager's paradise. I also go for their Baked Cheese Rice with Pork Chop with their Borsch Soup. I dunno if their Borsch Soup is authentic but I really don't care, I LOVE it!!! I can drink bowls and bowls of it. It's tangy and full of vege, it's just really really nice!The baked rice itself is also quite good. The rice is essentially fried rice with egg and there is a nice taste on its own. This restaurant has sea view seats. It is very crowded during lunch and dinner time. They sell reasonable priced Hong Kong food. I ordered the curry spaghetti . The curry is baked with a layer of cheese and very spicy. It has eggs, chicken wings, sausages , pork chop or fish fillet or chicken chop depending on what you order. I had the pork chop. My group of friends and I were searching for a place to rest after all the walking after dinner and now it's supper time for us! We settled down here and were lucky to get seats pretty fast as the restaurant was already packed with people! After us, a queue started to form. I ordered the Baked cheese chicken rice everytime I am here! It was with white sauce this time. The cheese really fills up the whole rice and the chicken was quite big in portion. It was baked well and the chicken was tender. Ordered their milk tea and the borsch soup too. The borsch soup tasted better than the cream soup.

Hong Kong Kim Gary restaurant always have a long queue during the peak lunch and dinner hours. Unlike other Hong Kong Restaurant, the interior décor of Kim Gary was simple, using stripe basically. It reminded me a fast food restaurant in Hong Kong. The café was always crowded. The fries at Kim Gary. I ordered curry and seaweed if i didnt remember wrongly. it tasted like mcdonald's shaker fries though, not veery special. But it was quite good for a person who like fries. hee(; And, my main course. It somehow look like maggi mee with lots of ingredients inside. but, i like how they present it, don;t it look just like a smiley face(: Well, maybe i chose my wrong choice of food... but i did see some other food seems quite promising^^

While at the Kim Gary restaurant, I decided to order the spicy noodle that comes with dumplings and some vegetables. My first observation is that they put a lot of bean sprout into the noodle, which I simply do not like at all. The soup was also rather spicy and I doubt weak chilli eaters can withstand the spiciness of this dish. At first the noodle tasted nice but when you tasted it a few times, the spiciness nature of the dish simply make your tongue numbed. Would I recommend this dish to you?

Decided to head to Kim Gary to have my lunch and I ordered the pork chop baked rice, that comes with generous servings of broccoli and tomato, which I don't like to eat at all, and also a huge piece of pork chop that tasted great! Not to forget, it also comes with a topping of melted cheese that is placed on the rice. Overall I think the pork chop baked rice tasted delicious and it's worth giving it a try if you happen to be at Kim Gary Restaurant at Vivocity.
