Ichiban Sushi (已結業)

This chicken katsu don at Iciban really taste delicious! The chicken cutlet in it is really big, crispy and the meat is very tender and juicy. With the beaten egg spreaded on the entire rice add in that extra fragrant to it. Like the long spring onions on it too as it added that extra little crunch to it when you eat the rice with the chicken cutlets. The portion is just alright for an adult. Since I was at Toa Payoh and had cravings for sushi, I decided to visit Ichiban Sushi to buy some takeaway sushi home. I bought my favourite lobster salad sushi, salmon sushi and nihotate sushi, and some coronets to share. The sushi was good. Coronets were tasty too! Total damage was $14.50. Cashier was very friendly and chatty and rendered good service. Thumbs up!

I quite like Ichiban’s unagi and egg dish. It costs below $15 and has a generous serving of rice, fried eggs and unagi pieces ontop. What I liked was that the unagi had few bones and there was sufficient sauce on the rice. It comes with a small bowl of miso soup. We also ordered a beef sukiyaki. went down to have ichiban sushi for dinner with my lab mates. since i had too much heaty food recently , i went for something more soupy which was hotate nabe. the set included hotate nabe, salmon sashimi, teriyaki chicken don, chawamushi and fruits. the portion was really big and i could hardly finished the food. the nabe was nice but i think the soup was a little blend so can consider adding some soya sauce when eating

This salmon don is nice.The salmon is fresh and the rice is also nice.Must mix well before eat so that all part of the rice can mix with the sauce.The unagi is also not bad,it is soft and tasty.I really like this kinds of japanese food.They place it very nicely and it really look clean.Bento...!The miso soup is also not bad,but is a bit too salty.

I loved Japanese food and I find that Ichiban Sushi serves a very good quality japanese food items at a very reasonable price. To me, it was much better than Sakae sushi. We met up with a friend at Toa Payoh and since we all loved Japanese food, we went for Ichiban but as it was dinner time, we had to wait for early 15 minutes before we got a seat. Dinner as usual at Ichiban Sushi Toa Payoh. Queues can be especially long if you enter the restaurant at dinner time, so reach early if you do not wish to wait.Service is quite prompt considering that the restaurant is always packed during dinner time. Food quality is one of the better sushi outlets I've been to. Price wise, value for money worth!
