I ordered this Chicken Penyet (not the fried version), as I was enticed my the queue again! I also saw many people eating this dish after walking 1 round around the food court. This cost $5.90. The chili is extremely potent, similarly to the time that I ate it. The tofu wasn't as bad this time round. A little softer on the fried part. And for the main star! The chicken! The sauce was quite sweet, even sweeter than the last time, you definitely need to pair it with rice so that the effect is not

The chicken is quite soft but I think they might have grilled it a little too long as it was juicy.

OVerall, this is definitely better than the fish penyet as firstly, you don't have to deal with messy bones and this is much easier to eat.

The queue attracted me to it once again and I decided to try the "healthier" food available there: Gado-gado ($4.50)I like the fragrance of the peanut sauce that was drenched on top of some cabbage, egg and rice cakes. Not much complaints to this as I felt that it was pretty good. A little qualm about it is that some pieces of koropok seems to have been left out for too long or so. It didn't really have the crisp feeling anymore. Other than that, I think this dish was nice!

($6.90)First try, didn't really like it. But the queue seems to be perpetually long. I didn't like that the pomfret fish had a lot of small bones and it was deep fried (?) for too long; made it really hard and different to get the meat part out! The sauce was a little too sweet for me but if coupled with the rice, it seems nicer. The two little pieces of tofu at the side was quite of redundant and it was quite hard along the edges. However, I think most of the people were queuing for the chilli

However, I think most of the people were queuing for the chilli! It is really really spicy and my tongue was on fire once i touched it! It was way too hot for me but i guess it caters to the singaporean search for the spiciest food! haha!

Back to try the Indonesia Penyet stall. This time, I ordered the Fish Penyet ($6.90) this time. For $6.90, you can one whole pomfret, rice and tofu. You also get a generous serving of chili, which was a waste for me as the chili is too spicy for my liking. My mouth burns up after just one small bite of the chili. The fish was soft but the meat was slightly stuck to the bones. A little scaly too especially nearer to the end. The dish's saving grace was its sweet brown sauce that complements the r

I will try adding lime to the fish or meat next time.

I decided to try the Oxtail Soup ($5.50) as I was craving something soupy and warm. Since I love the oxtail soup at Ayam Penyet Ria, I figured that the taste of the soup from this stall should be about the same. I was fairly disappointed with the soup as it was really oily and not as flavourful as I'd expected. The 2 oxtail parts that were given were also lacking in meat. There are some potatoes and carrots but that was about it. This dish comes with rice. I do not recommend this dish.

This is the Mee Bakso ($3.50) from this Indonesian stall. The noodles are a mix of the thick yellow mee and bee hoon. This mee bakso is quite plain as it does not even have bean sprouts. It only has noodles and meatballs. The meatballs were a little tough and one look at the soup and you can tell that it was really oily. Trying this once is enough and I will stick with the rice dishes or gado-gado in future.

This gado-gado ($4.50) consists of boiled cabbage, egg and ketupat doused in peanut sauce. The keropok is crispy and has a distinct prawn taste. However, it becomes soggy after being soaked in the peanut sauce for too long so I recommend eating this first. I love the peanut sauce for its fragrant peanut aroma and its texture. The pieces of boiled cabbage were soft and you get one whole egg instead of half. This serves as a full meal for me even though it may be considered a salad. Sedap!

The new Indonesia Penyet stall at the food court looks really attractive. It has pictures of almost every one of its dishes, unlike other stalls which only show pictures of some. I opted for the Empal Penyet with Grilled Sauce ($5.90) as this was a healthier alternative to ayam penyet which is fried. The chili is extremely spicy!! Almost on par with the chili at Ayam Penyet Ria. The beef was not very consistent-- some parts were soft and other parts were harder. Although some parts were harder than other parts, it was still juicy and it doesn't take a lot of effort to chew. I will surely try out other dishes from here. Can't resist Indonesian food!
