We went to InItaly during a weekday lunch, intrigued by its selling point of Tuscan Italian and a casual hangout atmosphere. It didn't disappoint. We went to InItaly during a weekday lunch, intrigued by its selling point of Tuscan Italian and a casual hangout atmosphere. It didn't disappoint. The restaurant was reasonably big and perhaps a tad empty because of its out of the way location (its next to Xi Yan btw). The decor was definitely rustic Italian with cheery yellow walls. The food though was good and hearty, with more than the usual italian staples. For starters, we shared the stracciatella cheese with stewed eggplant. Both were flavourful and a delight to perk our appetites. For mains, we had the daily special - lobster pasta and the orecchiette. The server was helpful enough to advise us to start with the fomer as the latter had a stronger flavour. He was right! The lobster pasta, though not unique, held its own against the likes of Amarone and Otto. The pasta has a handmade feel and crustacean was fresh enough. The orecchiette though was good! The chef chose to use a small bowl shaped pasta (a bit like macarone) which held the sauce well. They were also generous with the porcini mushroom which was in large pieces and the crispy ham added the bit of saltiness to it. We had no time for dessert but they considerately offered us a final petite four to round off the meal on a sweet note. Nice gesture! I will be back for sure on a less rushed day to try the rest of the menu!
