I had bought a Mango Mousse Cake from Jack's Place bakery counter to celebrate Christmas. I know I should have bought a log cake but I did not order in advance and it was all soldout. This Mango Mousse Cake cost $42 for 1kg size. The Mango Mousse Cake tasted very good. The cake was fresh, moist and fluffy. The mousse testure was similar to the cake texture, I was not able to differentiate between the sponge cake or the mousse. The mango used was fresh, creamy and sweet, it tasted good.Overall, thought the cake was slightly pricey, I think I had made the right choice of buying a Mango Mousse Cake than a Chocolate log cake. The fruit cake tasted delicious and more healthy than chocolate swiss roll.

FoodJack's Place has offered a promotional set lunch daily from Monday to Sunday available for 11am to 2.30pm. Every set meal comes with soup of the day. As it was Tuesday, my menu was limited to Baked Fish or Sirloin Steak.I have chosen the Baked Fish with cream of lemon Butter sauce as my Main Course. A decent and stomach filling meal. The vegetables that comes with it are crunchy. However the pasta seems abit dry.Cost: S$12.40ServiceService response over lunch hours are rather prompt. Food ordered was served quite quickly. Went there together with my family with vouchers. My father commented that Jack's Place in West Cost Recreation Centre is very different from other outlets. it is one of the oldest restaurants. I strongly agreed, it is there since 20 years i guess, or even more. I celebrated my 10th year old birthday there. the sizzling hot plate is nice, i had my combo. I don't like lamb, there i opt for fish. the serving is huge. it is too full for me, but as compare to the outlet at bukit panjang, i like the cosy environment.:mad:

Try their Valentine Day's Special Menu which they claim to be special. Service is super super slow. Takes 15min for a waiter to come and take your orders and 1 hr 15min for your main dish to comes.What is worst is when it comes the Steak is over cooked and burned when what I order is Medium rare. No apology from the staff at all.When i request the manager to change the burnt and over cooked Steak for me they did not even bother. Imagine having to sit there waiting for your dinner for an hour plus. Imagine paying $47++ per pax to eat over cooked burnt food.Dun go there during any festival caused you will totally be despair and upset.

I was attracted by their Canadian themed promotions hence i dropped by to give it a try.The steak portion is big and i requested mine to be medium rare and they did it quite well to my liking, it wasnt too raw nor tough, just the way i like it.The price was about $30 after tax and gst, abit expensive, but i find it worth the quality and service paid for as the servers were really friendly and prompt to response.They topped up my iced water promptly and were really attentive.This is sure a nice place to visit again.
