Went down to JB101 today to try their food, and from a Malaysian perspective, I think the Zhichar is really not bad and quite similar to the one I eat back in Malaysia. The staff also all generally quite nice when serving us and automatically helping us to refill water. The place also don't have service charge or gst which I thought was very rare to find nowadays.

nhTried this restaurant for the first time today and it was such a great choice. The food were all amazing and its definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to! The Hokkien fried noodles were fantastic, it was packed with wok hei and perfectly balanced, not greasy at all. Mee tai bak soup was rich and flavourful, the noodles were also silky smooth, making it so satisfying to eat. The signature fried pork had the perfect crunch and a savoury marinade that really stood out. The white bee hoon was light yet flavourful, with just the right amount of wok hei. The handmade yam ring with chicken was a crowd favourite. The yam was smooth and not overly greasy, and the filling was tasty and generous! Prices were fair, and the place felt clean and comfortable. Would definitely come back for a satisfying zi char meal.

JB 101 is the kind of zhi char place you wouldn’t expect to find in such a quiet business area, but wah, really not bad sia. The moment we stepped in, the aircon hit just nice, and the clean, casual setup made it feel a bit more modern than your usual coffee shop zhi char. We tried the claypot white pepper chicken soup which is a solid choice. Price point also very reasonable, around $15–20 per pax if you don’t go crazy ordering seafood.
