kinara is a place so magical it's almost a restaurant that no one knows about. i had such a fantastic experience there — the service crew was excellent and proud of what they offer. they're so exquisite and detailed, even the pillars are vintage pieces from india and cost more than $10k to ship the special piece over.my camera skills ain't good enough to capture the beautiful outlet.i love this sort of lantern lights — very enchanting. they also had ipads for us to key in our dishes, and we could order from the ipad as well. they had photos and description for each food.we had a complimentary starter, and i didn't know what is called but it was crispy and really good.we had various sauces served to us as well, such as the minty basil sauce and some special in-house sauce. the tandoori bharwan aloo (grilled stuffed potatoes) was really yummy!! i totally loved the texture and flavours coming together.the chicken wasn't too spicy. it was thoroughly marinated wiht lots of spices but i felt that the portion was too tiny to share among two people. it's as if its a single portion only.the naan was really huge!!! loved the herb sprinkles. could be shared among three people.this was overly sweet — i felt like i was eating concentrated syrup. wouldn't recommend you trying this dish at all as it will send shivers down to your spine. 繼續閱讀

One of my all-time favourite cuisines is Indian cuisine, being a Chinese, is it ironic that I say I don't mind eating Indian food everyday? Kinara is a restaurant located at Holland Village serving creative and contemporary North Indian cuisine. The operating hours are from 11.30am - 2.30pm for Lunch and 6pm - 11pm for dinner. It was humid outside on that day so we opted to dine inside. Although it's a pretty small space and seatings are limited, the inside of the restaurant remains elegant and gives you the atas yet warm feel of home. They also play some gentle Indian cultural music in the background and it's those kind that would make you feel culturally at peace, if you know what I mean. Their POS system is pretty awesome. The touchscreen pad allows you to order whatever you like and you just have to click "send order" to place your orders, which is really convenient. You can also choose the level of spicyness you want your dishes to be.  The free appetizer comes minutes later with fresh apple jam and a green sauce that taste like curried cilantro chili pepper sauce. For the best taste, apply both sauce on the cracker to enjoy mix of complimentary flavours and textures.  We started off by ordering some Jeera Pulao ($5), which is simply just basmati rice dotted with cumin seeds, it's light and fluffy and compliments other dishes really well! This is one of my favourite as there! This Herb Naan ($4.50) is topped with fresh mint and herbs  and may be possibly the best naan I've ever had in Singapore! I've tried a couple from different shops in Little India but none of them tasted as good as this. This Indian flatbread may be the most typical food for them to cook but then again simple things are hard to perfect to get the "wow" factor, but at this place, I've got it. We then got another awesome dish called the Murgh Tikka Masala ($22), which is made up of boneless tandoori chicken cooked with the chef's special spices. It's basically a creamy tomato-based curry with really flavourful spices. Indians are known to be the world's best user for spices and hence this dish deserves all the stars I have! My buddy and I also shared the Murgh Pashtoom, Butter Chicken ($22.50). This is a classic Indian dish especially meant for people who can't take any level of spiciness at all! Many versions of this dish exists in the market but this chicken right here has been marinated really long over night with good yogurt and spices, top it over some naan or rice and you'll be in heaven! So these basically sums up my amazing experience there at Kinara! The service may be alright and prices may be on the higher end, but nevertheless it's still a highly recommended place! The quality and taste of food along with the warm cozy ambience will always keep me going back for more. Thumbs up! 繼續閱讀

I have heard loads of positive reviews in the past about Kinara. I was dying to go for awhile to find out what exactly the big fuss was about and was so glad I finally had the opportunity to experience it myself! My friend and I decided to pop over to Kinara for lunch after classes. The restaurant wasn't that hard to find the way I had anticipated. When we arrived, the restaurant had just opened and they were in the process of changing cushion covers. However, the waitress welcomed us in and showed us to a table that was already set. The location was near the entrance and the seating was filled with cushions. The restaurant had a warm homely feel to it and the seating was extremely comfortable. It took about 10-15mins for our food to arrive. However, they served us with a starter that came free of charge (papadum served with with sweet & mint chutney)This place would be perfect for a romantic date even in the afternoon! We shared two mains (the naan basket aswell as the Biryani and had two sides to go along - Paneer dish & Bombay aloo. Lassi is also a prominent beverage that compliments Indian food very well! I ordered the mango lassi which was very refreshing! The servings of food were huge and even when we were sharing the dishes we had problems finishing them resulting to asking for a take-away! Naan Basket; which consisted of 2pcs each of the garlic, butter and sweet naan. The naan's were fluffy and soft! Sabz Biryani (Vegetarian)This is one of the best vegetable biryani's I have tasted. Each bite was delightful and unlike most biryani's; it wasn't oily at all! This dish was also served with raita (which is an Indian salad of fresh carrots, onions & cucumbers immersed in yoghurt) Bombay AlooThis potato dish was a little gravy based. It was also mildly spicy Paneer Dish (unfortunately forgot what it was called) 繼續閱讀
