During a gathering, we decided to go to Kungfu Paradise. It was something similar to those Hong Kong cafes. I ordered this Tropical Smoothie as I was yearning for something that gave a Hawaiian feel. The serving of the drink disappointed me. As one could see, it was not even filled to the brim. The concentration was there but there were also too much ice. Within a few slurps, the drink was finished and I was left feeling rather cheated.

By the time I finished work at 10pm, there were not many places still open for me to grab something to eat. As I was rather hungry, I decided to go for the Creamoso which was something like carbonara. This was recommended by the staff as I could not decide what to order initially.
The spaghetti tasted rather average with more pasta than anything else. Well, as long as my stomach was filled up, I couldn't complain more.

A funky environment for all ages. Servce is excellent! There's stil rooms for improvement for their food and think needs lots of improvement on their beverages. Overall is still a pleasant experience there... would give my verdict: 6/10

As for the service, there is a non-chinese guy who is quite friendly and is attentive.

The Paradise group of restaurants recently added a Hong Kong style cafe, Kungfu Paradise, to its ever expanding stable of restaurants which include well known outlets like Taste Paradise and Seafood Paradise. To mark the opening of Kungfu Paradise's first outlet at Bedok Point, invites were sent out for a tasting lunch, which I had the opportunity to attend.

Located on the first level of Bedok Point, Kungfu Paradise enjoys relatively higher human traffic by virtue of it being situated right next to the main doors of the mall. The interior is typical of any cafe with its wooden tables and plastic chairs. Funny how they aim to target the youth but are playing songs by Bon Jovi (which happens to fall smack into my era).

Kungfu Disciple Frappe ($6.80) - I have no idea how kungfu relates to peanut butter but this drink had a nice hint of it - smooth and creamy. Great for a soothing afternoon drink. But at $6.80 a pop, it's honestly quite expensive to be drinking on a regular basis.

Flying Kungfu Wings ($5.80 for 3pcs) - The wings were said to have been marinated in a special secret sauce but after chomping through one whole wing, it tasted to me like a deep fried chicken wing with a nice crispy layer of skin and no marination whatsoever. Special sauce you say?

Balls On Mash ($9.80) - As the name of this dish suggests, its basically meat balls on mashed potato. Decent with not too much flour and a tart tomato sauce which helped to balance out the mashed potatoes.

French Toast with Chicken Floss & Condensed Milk ($5.80) - I personally am not a fan of condensed milk on my bread so I didn't quite take to the french toast, which was a little too moist and sticky for my liking.

Chicken Chop "Babe" Rice with Tomato Sauce ($9.80) - Too salty was what came to mind when I had a spoonful of the cheese and rice. The tomato sauce was also a bit too overwhelming which grossed me out to a certain extent. It would have been better if they diluted it a little.

Soup Noodles with Braised Beef Brisket ($8.80) - How bad can instant noodles get? Doesn't take a chef to pry open a packet of instant noodles, add the seasoning and throw in pieces of beef and an egg. To give it credit though, the beef cubes were quite tasty and fibrous.

Flaming Crab Pasta ($10.80) - Spicy. And not being really adept at taking on spicy stuff, I am in no position to comment on this dish, save for the fact that the pasta wasn't al dente. Actually my taste buds were numb from the chilli and I was busy trying to douse the flames with water to even register anything besides hot, hot hot!

Be Hooked! ($9.80) - Simple fish and chips. Smooth and tender flesh coupled with an almost artificial sweetness encrusted by a not too thick layer of batter. Decent.

Mango Thai Chilli Chicken with Rice & Egg ($8.80) - The chicken was way too deep fried (look at the colour of the batter), resulting in a nausea inducing end product. Other than that, everything was, well, normal.

Nippon Power & Crushing Sesame ($6.80 each) - A nice cold dessert of shaved ice to end off the meal. Nothing too different from what you are able to get from other places.

I am not sure the quirky names appealed to me but the food certainly didn't. It was average food at best and I hope Kungfu Paradise will work towards improving their quality of food especially with the higher than average prices (as compared to other Hong Kong style cafes) they are charging for their food.

When i walked into the restaurant, it took my friend 20 min to get a cup of plain water which costed 30 cents. The servers are not helpful and are reluctant to help.

When my friend ordered his cheesy pasta, when it first arrived, it was so dried that it look worse than a plate fried bee hoon that behind for hours! The image of the food is bad enough whereas the taste is even worse! NO TASTE! we asked the manager to change it for him, They give him a wetter version of again a NO TASTE pasta!

Another friends of mine ordered a plate of steak, he wanted it in medium, they give him a medium rare! POOR SERVICE PLUS POOR COOK!

Whereas i ordered a cup of root beer float, When the drink was served! The ice cream already melted and you can hardly scope any ice cream out of the drink!

A really bad experience for me!

My friend n i wont ever go back to this Kungfu PARADISE (HELL) again

The waiter said that it was marinated with their "special sauce" But when I tasted it, it was really nothing special. YEs, the skin was crispy just the way I wanted it, but the meat was bland!

As for our mains, I had the Flaming Crab Pasta ($10.80) because I love spicy foods! But for this dish, it was too spicy that it overpowered the whole dish. It also had this slight fishy taste that lingers in your mouth after eating.

The best part of the whole meal was the dessert. Their Chocolate Lava Cake was just to die for! It was very rich and the

chocolate just oozes out of the cake once you slice it. Yummy!

We went there last Tue around 7.50pm when they happen to have technical problem with the Kitchen system and refuse to take in customer.

We insist to leave our mobile no and was willing to wait. The Manager Jeremy kindly took our mobile no and we went walking around Bedok point. After about 15mins he called us to say they can take our order. So we went back and was quickly seated. Service was fast when we were there.

The waiter mentioned some dishes were not available and what was recommended. We had the flaming crab pasta which is chilli crab sauce over spaghetti. I highly recommended it. We also tried the Thai chilli sauce chicken rice which comes with a side of mango salad and fried egg. We also order the French toast which is serve with Maple syrup and fried chicken wing. The Chicken wing was a disappointment for me as it has frozen meat after taste. The 1st 2 dishes were my favourite.

Total bill with softdrink and tea came to less than $45 for 3 person. I cannot wait to go back to try the other items on the menu.
