Wanted something light so I went to Kuriya for their range of sushi. As they are also sharing the premise with Wadori and Ichiban Bento, the place was very crowded when I went. I changed my mind about dining in and decided to takeaway instead due to the lack of seats.I love the rows of colourfully displayed sushi. RE&S has various Japanese eateries under it. One of its outlets is located at the basement of Causeway Point Shopping Mall. Here there is 3 different eateries located in the same location. At the one side is the Kuriya Japanese Fresh Fish Market, selling various food items such as sushi, sashimi and sauces. The other side is the WADORI, YAKITORI which sells grilled food items. Behind both is another eatery called ICHIBAN BENTO selling order to made bentos. Therefore it is like an outlet housing

Hitched a ride from colleague to Woodlands after work, so I went to window shop for awhile, at the same time to grab dinner. Initially wanted to take away, but end up dining inBought a stick of 2 pc big, fat & juicy Hotate @ $3.80. Main dinner was the Salmon Teriyaki Bento @ $9.50 which comes with multi-grain rice, a seafood gyoza, hald a pumpkin croquette & of cos a slice of Salmon. Quite a thick slice of salmon & the freshness of the salmon can still be felt even though with the teriyaki sauce

Kuriya has really good sushi! My favorite part of sushi is usually the rice! The rice has to be of the right consistency and taste having the capacity to make or break a dish ! Kuriya a achieved this well in the California roll that I had for dinner last week. Being a premium roll there was lots of egg roe and even real crab meat present inside the sushi. There was a good ratio of rice to filling and all these made for a really great sushi experience!

i got myself the tuna and jelly fish sushi from kuriya fish market. I must say their jelly fish sushi is one of the nicest one I have tasted. I like how they seasoned the jelly fish. It taste a little sweet and there were chilli bits in between. The rice is sour due to the vinegar so there is different layers of flavours which makes it really delicious. the tuna one was good too, the tuna did not have those fishy smell.

After lunch, I was still filling hungry so I poped by the kuriya fresh fish market at causeway point to get myself some sushi. I got myself three pieces, two of which are the crabstick with mayo and one marinated jelly fish one. The crabstick with mayo is really good, the mayo is very creamy, it is light and refreshing. The marinated jelly fish one was very nice, the jelly fish was very chewy taste like rubber band. It was really satisfying.

Kuriya kuriya kuriya. We love this awesome sushi to snack on when we miss Japanese but don’t wanna spend a bomb on all the other food. We can really eat tons of sashimi and sushi – we’re mad about Japanese food. Lobster salad sushi! It’s Kuriya again! Yes I really mean it when I said I love Japanese food! I shared a hand roll with boyfriend – California hand roll! He loves it and always goes for that hand roll when we visit Kuriya. I love this hand roll too because of its crabstick, actually. Had a fishy supper feast yesterday when Kuriya was starting to pack up – and that’s when we get to feast on awesome food. They were leftovers, to put it more blatantly. Well raw fish can’t be kept overnight and they only sell 100% fresh food so that explains why they have 20% off all sushi and sashimi. (Hooray!) I love raw fish! Salmon especially! Totally love to drop by Kuriya on my way home every time I've a sashimi craving. Kuriya serves salmon sashimi in a small box with 6 slices for about $4-5 bucks. Pretty cheap to me as their raw fishes are really fresh (and fat!).They also have good service - the friendly staffs greets each time you enter. They clear the tables promptly too! The only thing I dislike about the place that it's pretty small and it gets really crowded and squeezy during peak hours.

this new kuriya jap fresh fish market took over ichiban restaurant. its still under the same group though. this has a more of a take-away concept, small stools are uncomfortable to sit on and tables are arranged close to each other making it only suitable for a quick meal. food: good quality & consistencyi love the takeaway sushi counter - it has my favourite sheared salmon with cheesy mayo topped with fish roe, unagi & egg. - see 2nd photo.bento sets are also good, you may order yakitori stick

Brought a bento set for lunch. This bento includes chicken balls, chicken karaage, pork belly and chicken. It is similar to the Tori Q which includes the chicken stick variety but with additional sticks like tempura prawn, pork belly. The chicken sticks are well marinated and cooked. The chicken karaage was also well deep fried, has a tender texture. What I like in this bento is probably the pork belly. Tender and chewy texture and the amount of fat is just right and goes well with the rice, pic
