I last visited Kuru Kuru a couple of years ago. As there is a recent Groupon deal, I searched for latest reviews to see if the restaurant is worth a re-visit before I make the purchase. Was very apprehensive with some recent poor reviews of the place. Nonetheless, decided to check out the restaurant yesterday.I am happy to say that my apprehension dissipated when the 1st 2 dishes arrived, which were sashimi (salmon, yellowtail & swordfish) & pork cutlet. The former was cold & fresh. The latter, though thin, was decent. The rest of the dishes (makis, various sushi, shishamo, ebi tempura, chicken wings, gyoza, garlic fried rice ) were OK.My only gripes were :Salmon teriyaki/ Salmon in butter sauce - very small pieces for each diner. Some were moist, others overdone & dry.Chawanmushi - blandGrilled Saba - skin was nicely grilled, but again, dry.Sakura dumpling - this is a dried hard mess that I had to spit out. The dorayaki is a better choice than the dumplingsIce cream - all ok ecept the vanilla, which has strong artificial tasteSalmon roe sushi - overly salty & not so fresh.ServiceNothing I can fault with. They brought pots )for hot ocha) & jugs (of drinks) so that you can re-fill yourself. One of the wait staff (I think a male Filipino) even wished my husband 'Happy Father's Day'. Well, it was just a lunch, not a special celebration. Gesture appreciated, though. So, this place is still worth a visit.…查看更多
