Visited Lai Lai Kitchen on a weekday afternoon during lunch time. The place was crowded due to the timing and it was difficult to find seats. Took about 15 minutes to queue and get the food. The noodles were delicious and but slightly more expensive than food court. The char siew and wanton were not too bad. Nice ambience but a little too packed.Overall, I like the wanton noodles but not worth the trip due to the price and location.

I paid my visit during a weekend lunch at jurong point branch. It is a Taiwanese style restaurant. The place was fully crowded and the opening dining place might make you feel uncomfortable as the people passing by might look at you eating. The food was quite ordinary and standard. The service was ok. But their drinks were good and they offered good range of choices which I was impressed.

I had went to Lai Lai Kitchen which sold roast meat and ordered roasted duck noodles with char siew.

The roast duck had very nice tasting skin which was grilled to crispy and there was also a nice layer of fats under the skin. The duck meat tasted well cooked and tender, there was slight five spice powder taste.

The char siew tasted good with grilled caramel sweetness on the outer layer. The char siew meat was moist, not dry.

The noodles were a slightly soggy, maybe the chef had over cooked it.

Lai Lai Kitchen has been tucked in the far end corner of Jurong Point 1 over these years ever since the mall was in operations. As Space of Lai Lai is rather limited, the layout was maximized by placing counter table where customers can enjoying looking at the MRT passing by at an elevated seating during the day. While during the night, the panels of the building come in good use, reflecting the lighting thus enhancing the ambiance.

We were skeptical on the food availability as only half a roasted duck was left hanging on the display. Fortunately, when asked, the cashier mentioned that the items we wanted was still available.

Ordered the Black Sauce Chicken Noodle at $4. Black sauce was sweet and was generously poured in with the springy fine yellow noodles whereas chicken was firm and juicy, yums!

Reddish Char Siew on Wanton Mee ($4 Per Plate) was tenderlean to my liking added with 3 wanton bags and some greens stalks. Sauce used was the same and our mains were equally yummy especially with the QQ bite from the noodles!

I'm a fan of their braised Chicken Feet ($1 Each) . It's usually one of my orders unless it was sold out! The deep fried chicken feet were braised to infuse flavour thus achieving a succulent texture.

Dumplings soup, $5 was filled with about 6 dumplings in a bowl accompanied by some greens. Soup was tasty and lends some hints of peppery taste, however, we all knew that its the magic of MSG behind this.

What's wrapped under it? A lump of minced meat packed with little chunks of chestnut that gives of a crunchy bite with a jelly bite like feeling from the black jew's-ears.

To sum up, Lai Lai serves as a convenient place to dine in with a reasonable pricing. Quality and quantity of food in my opinion are the best so far in the mall! The downside I would say that if the restaurant is packed, the walkaway along the aisles are rather narrow and there's no direct route to get out of the restaurant after the meal especially. One more thing to take note is that as Lai Lai Kitchen is located next to a training school, it is best to avoid the peak hours especially when the children are dismissed from their classes with parents waiting at Lai Lai. Be early to to avoid disappointment!

This was my second time dining at lai lai kitchen. This place serves many local delights such as roasted duck rice, chicken rice and wanton mee. Decided to order a dry wanton mee @ $4. After ordering, you will be given a queue number and will have to collect your food at the counter once your number is being called. As i ordered mine with chili, i thought the noodles will be cooked with the chili, but they actually placed the chili separately, hence i had to mix the noodles and chili myself. Thi

This dish tastes quite nice however, the sauce was quite sweet and salty. The char siew meat was quite small and sweet though.

I ordered lai lai kitchen’s wanton mee. I felt the standard of the wanton mee seemed to have dropped. I ordered the dry version so the soup was served separately. I found the soup pretty oily, as you can see in my photo, the surface of the soup was rather oily. The noodles were overcooked in my opinion, it was not the QQ texture like the last time I ate it. The char siew had a lot of fats, maybe some people likes it that way, but I not really fond of the fats. The only thing nice was the wanton,

I think it was the savior of the dish.

Their chilli they didn’t mix it in, instead, they place the sambal at one corner for you to mix it on your own, if you dun want too spicy you can just remove some of the sambal. The wanton was so so, nothing spectacular as well.

I was quite shocked that Lai Lai's price have increased by so much, but since I am there already, I decide to just order since it isn't often that I eat there anyway. I ordered their wanton noodles. The char siew slices are quite pathetic, there are only a few slices and is really fatty. The wanton is ok, though I feel it is quite salty and I had to eat it with lots of green chilli to balance out the saltiness. Also, the service is quite bad as the counter staff is quite rude when I told her not

For the poor service and high price, I think this is most probably my last visit to Lai Lai.

It is the first time I'm trying the bbq pork rice at Lai Lai. The bbq pork..which clearly visible from the picture, isn't like those dry bbq pork you get from many cheap hawker stalls. Its very moist and the sauce that they used goes great with it. Its $4 and I do recommend it.

Its been a long time since I last dined at Lai Lai and I decided to have their duck noodles. They have increased their price from $3.50 to $5 over the years. It was pretty shocking to me considering the inflation isn't even that high. So anyway, it was not as good as before. The duck was too dry..and half of the duck meat I was given I couldn't even swallow it. Also, the skin had a thick layer of fats..it is well roasted though. The sauce isn't as salty as before, which is a good thing. For $5,

For $5, I'd say its not worth it. Considering you can't even eat the duck, they should probably charge only $3 b/c all I could swallow was the noodles. Very disappointed and probably will not go back to the place anytime soon. Oh yes, and the place had lots of house flies and I sat at a dirty table for the whole meal b/c no one was around to clean the tables. Terrible dining experience.

I decided to try out the lai lai kitchen duck rice. i always thought it was very pricey as they specially open up a shop just to sell this kind of roasted delight. However to my surprise, the food was somewhat food court pricing. I ordered their roasted duck rice, it only cost five dollars. The queue is exceptionally long during dinner time and I notice there were only three staff manning the store.
