For many months, i have been hoping for a chance to review this kway chap stall. For many months, i have been hoping for a chance to review this kway chap stall. I only come near this area on Sundays and the stall will be closed by the time i finish my games at the secondary school nearby. I happen to have a chance to come here at 1030am and i could witness the bustle of the stall with the old grandma, behind the stall, serving out dish after dishes of kway chap combinations. Ordered the mixed set without pig skin of course, it came with tau pok, big intestines, fish cake and eggs. Especially like the big intestines as it doesn't have those usual foul smell of a improperly cleaned intestines, and more importantly its easy to bite and yet chewy, perfectly done for a braised item. The chilli also enhances the other arts as well. Th soup is also to die for, overshadowing the kway itself. Without a doubt i gulped up every bit of the soup
Last but not least, they most impressive item got to be the price. Whens the last time you find a place that serves $2.50 kway chap including the kway as well. Lai Xing does. Sure hopes grandma passes on the skills to the what seemingly family members looking helpers so that we can continue to enjoy such hawker goodness.
