The restaurant is popular with locals and the foreigners as well. The queue is quite long when i reached there at 2pm and i had to wait 15mins to get a seat. Their specialty is Pho Dac Biet - Sliced beef noodle which i had heard so many people talking about itRestaurant is full even after 2pm. My goodness.....

This place takes my vote for the best Vietnamese restaurant in Singapore. It is prepetually crowded and best to go early i.e. before 6.30pm for dinner or expect to queue for at least 15 minutes.Their phos are excellent; my favourite being their beef pho. Good:- Ordered beef pho. The beef tastes soft and easy to bite while the soup is flavourful and fragrant, not too salty.- Chilli, bean sprout and lime is placed at the side of the bowl for you to add in at your own preference, which is great.Not-so-good:- A short walk from the mrt station is needed.- Limited carparks along the roadside.Overall:Would return to eat again one day when i am around that area.

As recommended by one of my friend, I decided to go check out this Vietnamese restaurant along Joo Chiat Road. There are many Vietnamese restaurants opening up around Singapore but are not as authentic, so I hope Long Phung will not disappoint me. After more than a decade upon my return from my studies in the US where many vietnamese immgrants have set up restaurant serving good authentic food. I was disappointed when I could not find anything close in Singapore and have basically gave up. After many good reviews by friends, I decided to give Long Phung a try. Upon arrival I noticed many diners of vietnamese decent and I thought to myself, this have to be good because they know better.

The small coffeeshop was easily missed if one is not carefully looking out for it. Its location was actually quite good, just next to the public carpark at Joo Chiat Rd.The mango smoothie and the springroll was delicious. While I enjoyed the slurpy kuay tiao noodles and generous portions of tender beef brisket, bouncy beef balls, half-cooked beef slices that came with the Long Phung Special Beef Pho, I wasn't too impressed with the broth. Yes, it was sweet and flavorful, but it wasn't hearty enough and was laden with MSG. So far this is the best Vietnamese Restaurant I have tasted in Singapore. It is similar to what I have eaten in Vietnam, US and Australia. Lots of Vietnamese girls was there when we went for early dinner. At 5pm, the place was 1/3 full.The place is air-con with fans but did not feel very cool, as the front entrance of the shop is open with no enclosed door to lock in the air-con.
