Friend had been eating here and it is my first time as she mentioned it's nice and decided to give it a try. The staff there are friendly, they greeted you the moment you stepped in and giving instruction on how to order and make payment. Mad Jack is a restaurant that is under jack's place and the food they offered are similar, both are western food. Went to mad jack for friends' gathering and I decided to order and try their burger as my friends recommended. The burger is highly stacked, and they are the thick cut fries besides too. I could feel that it sure will be a very full meal, but my friend ordered the cheese fries and pizza some more I really have no idea how to finish it. My friend and I were choosing a resto where to eat dinner, and then Mad Jack at NEX Mall blew our craving on their claim of tallest burger in town – Blue Mountains! The staff were very polite, the service were good and then bang with the food! Yes, Blue Mountains is tall, it’s loaded of patties, pineapple, cheese, lettuce, etc. The serving is okay for sharing same as the price at is is too overpriced! The patties were below average for me. Not even juicy, tender, it tasted so bland and boring, nothing so special that you will come back for! But I have to give credit on their fries that comes on a side of the burger. The fries are really tasteful that compliment with their choice of Heinz Ketchup and Mayo.Oh and by the way, there was no service charge and they are not serving house water. Warm and crispy fries which is soft and fluffy inside.very delicious salmon carbonara spaghettiThe spaghetti very creamy and flavourful, the salmon given is generous in portion and very big in size too. This is my first time trying madjack’s grilled chicken chop in black pepper sauce and I pretty much like it.(utting the taste aside, the portion was quite big and it was really satisfying after finishing it. The chicken was tender and juicy, and I like the taste of the thick black pepper gravy showered on the chicken chop. The student meal there is simply affordable There is 8 different choices to choose from.Me and my friends would normally order either the grilled chicken in black pepper sauce or the fish & chips.Previously I tried before the linguini in cream sauce too, and it was quite nice.I really like their fish and chips. The breaded coating outside the fish is crispy and nice! The fish is also juicy and smooth, very nice ! Mad jack at NEX claims that this Extreme blue mountains chicken burger to be the tallest burger of the town. It aroused my interest immediately when i saw this in the menu. It comes in a very big serving and i love it! The portion is so huge that probably you need two people to finish it. Mad Jack may seem good for a casual dining cafe to hang out with friends. I'm not so much of a big fan of them but I decided to visit their new Nex outlet when it was opened not long.For the plate of cheesy mixed fries, there are the normal American fries as well as cajun fries. I love their cajun fries the previous time I tried them at Pomo and requested for more in my order chit (self service and pay at the counter). However, I was a little disappointed at their serving this time as it's smaller and there are still more normal fries compared to cajun fries although I had requested for more.Their Oxtail Stew was highly raved by some so I decided to try it for myself. The texture of the oxtail was alright but I feel that the sauce is slightly too little to go along with rice as I enjoyed the sauce very much. Been there for a gathering with my secondary school mates. Was attracted to the food there and thought the price was reasonable. However as the group was large we had to wait to nearly 45minutes before being granted a seat. Looked through the menu and realised we had to topup $9 for a set meal which consist of a drink, soup and a dessert of the day. As students we felt that $9 to upgrade into a set meal is too much! Food there was quite good except for the fact that the seasoning on their 5patty burger( i forgot the name) was kinda bland. Otherwise it would taste awesome! It was a super long queue everywhere but we decided to drop by mad jack cos the queue was the shortest. Ended up waiting for quite sometime, but my friend and i were chatting away so it made the time seem shorter.Almost all the staff were young teenagers, but they were very polite and i thought the service was good. However, when we were seated, the table was not cleared yet and there was a bottle of shattered keptchup on the floor. The staff then went to get a SMELLY mop and mopped up the mess. The smell from the mop was really revolting, and i do think they could have cleared up the mess before getting us to sit down first.Anyway, there was no service charge, we basically fill in our orders and make the payment before our food would be served. Half-way i asked for warm water to take some medication and was told that i have to 'order' and make payment for it at the counter. I gave it a pass.I ordered the linguine cause i have always loved cream pastas, however when it came it looked nothing like the menu. The bowl was plain and boring and the food looked home-cooked.
