I've always loved the soya milk from Mr Bean.   It's rich, and not overly sweet. There's even an option to choose one's desired level of sugar. The menu is constantly reviewed with addition of new items.  I ordered Grass Jelly Soya Milk this time round, in expectation that it would be something like that of Gong Cha. I must admit that I was slightly disappointed  when I saw the strands of grass jelly (Gong Cha's version had the whole slab of soft grass jelly in it).  Nonetheless, the drink was still good, albeit the soya milk could be richer.  Not sure if there is QC for all outlets, but I'm pretty certain the outlet at People's Park FC made it richer.  Or has the grass jelly diluted the drink? Total Cost: Grass Jelly Soya Milk - $2 繼續閱讀

Decided to get some ice cream and drinks from Mr Bean after work. Got the ice cream ($1.90) and Pearly Bandung drink ($2.20).The soy bean based ice cream is really nice, with the soy bean taste you usually get from their soy bean milk. Not too sweet too so its good for people who cannot take sweet treats.(P.s - pardon the not too photogenic photo. The staff give me the cup of ice cream with the lid)I also ordered the Pearly Bandung but without pearls (ironic right). Lets just say unless you are really the adventurous type, just go for the normal soy bean milk. The Pearly Bandung have the slightest hint of bandung and soy bean. Very unique. But it does sports the bandung drink colour.  繼續閱讀

Mr Bean is a chain of outlets which is well known for its soya bean milk and bean curd. But this Christmas, Mr Bean is offering a new collection of cakes and cookies for the season. One of the cakes is Mistletoe Matcha (1kg) which costs $40. It is actually Matcha Red Bean Soy Cake. A Mr Bean Christmas plush toy (choice of either Gingerbread Man or Christmas Sock) is given free with every purchase of log cake, soy cake or party pack. It is my first time having soy cake. It tastes quite light and moist. It also feel more healthier than whipped cream. Yummy.Overall quite delicious, not sure if I will be able to order a soy cake from Mr Bean for birthday next time. 繼續閱讀

I do not deny that I am a fan of Mr. Bean Pancakes. I've ate them several times over the months and found them to be quite consistent in taste and quality. They are usually tasty and not too greasy. The texture of the pancakes are also slightly chewy and while the pancakes themselves may be small, they are usually packed with fillings on the inside. I have tried several flavours from Chocolate to Azuki Red Bean to Caramel Custard, and my favourites so far are the Egg Mayo, Double Chocolate and limited Hazelnut Royale. I like that Mr. Bean has been continually releasing new flavours to keep things interesting; the latest being the Turkey Ham & Mashed Potato pancake, which I have yet to try. While at one of their branches earlier to buy some pancakes, I was delighted to see that the Hazelnut Royale was re-released! So I ended up buying three pancakes instead of the planned two! It helped that their pancakes still tasted good even after several hours, at least for the ones like chocolate and hazelnut. All I did was to heat them up a little! The Pancakes! Azuki Red Bean ($1.30) There was a sign stating this was a new product when I went so I gave it a try. The red bean filling was quite sweet and the paste was filled with a strong red bean taste. However, I found the paste to be slightly too dry. Considering this, I thought it was quite average on the whole. Egg Mayo Pancake ($1.60) One of my long time favourite, the diced egg with mayo was both light and a little sweet and savoury at the same time. I thought it went very well with the pancake (or maybe I am just an egg mayo fan). This is one of those pancakes which I thought would be a nice treat to have with their soya milk! Hazelnut Royale Pancake($1.80) The best of all (in my opinion anyway), this one wins hand down in terms of taste! The chocolate was very rich and smooth, and there was a generous amount of hazelnut bits in it, which added quite a fair bit of crunch to every bite! The portion given was also quite generous, and you can see it almost oozing out upon opening. If only they would add this to their permanent menu! (Pair this up with a cup of hot cocoa for a really delicious treat!)Soya Milk ($1.40)Of course, I didn't pass up the chance to get a cup of warm Soya Milk to go with the pancakes. It was especially comforting especially on cold, rainy days. The Soya Milk was very fresh. It was also thick and silky smooth in consistency, which made it quite soothing on the throat. I also like that it was not overly sweetened!Soya Ice Cream Cup ($1.90)Although I haven't bought this lately due to the cold weather, I'd also recommend their Soya Ice Cream. I first got hooked on their Mr. Bean Soya ice cream after trying their chocolate version when it was still available. I switched to the original version after the chocolate version was no longer available and have not looked back since. "Healthier" food are usually much milder in taste but this ice cream did not compromise on taste and was equally as yummy as other soft serve ice cream from fast food restaurants. I have tried the Soya Ice Cream from the same store several times and it has been consistently smooth and refreshing with a slight hint of soya! Great for hot summer days! Overall, their prices are quite reasonable with the pancakes starting from $1.20 for the basic flavours like Peanuts and Chocolate to $1.80 for the newer or limited flavours like Hazelnut Royale. You can also get the pancake for slightly cheaper if you get it as a set with one of their beverages. For example, if you get a warm cup of soya milk at $1.40, you can get a red bean pancake at $1.10 instead of $1.30. Service was also pretty decent and the staff were friendly and responsive to questions despite there being a queue each time I went. I'll definitely go back again for their ice cream and pancakes, especially since they have a new Turkey Ham & Mashed Potato flavour that I've not tried yet. 繼續閱讀

Mr Bean is my favourite chain for a soya bean drink fix.Their soya bean drink is not like those bottled or coffee shop standard which taste very artificial and sometimes can be too sweet or too bland.Their soya bean drink taste healthier, fresh and thick and is not too sweet.I can really taste the real soya bean taste in every sip.Their cheese pancakes taste average, skin is kind of thick and not much filling inside. 繼續閱讀
