I could not remember the name of this salad but i remember i did not like it. It was a pile of different types of vegetable and sun dried tomatoes served with no sauce and no dressing. Maybe it did come with dressing but the waiting staff did not serve it? i ended up had it with their peri peri sauce to finish it. their signature chocolate tarts are one of the best seller here as well. The chocolate biscuit base is very crunchy and full of the thick dark chocolate flavour in it. It is slightly bitter in taste and also not too sweet as well. The center portion is fill with really fragrant moist chocolate brownies cake that blend in very well with the biscuit base. Nando's has opened another outlet at the Tanglin Mall after Bugis Junction. With the ever long queues at the Bugis Junction outlet, it is good to have another outlet to go to whenever I have craving for their peri grilled chicken. Their Peri Grilled Chicken definitely is one of the best in town. Spicy on the outside and tender inside. Besides the chicken, the sides served at Nando's were nice too. These grilled chicken here at Nando is one of the nicer grilled chicken in town. They are really tender and juicy, and for the healthier group, this version here really suit them as the chicken skin has been removed to ensure a healthier and less oil version is presented to us. The french fries here are towards the thicker version which is really crispy, not too oily and also not too salty. It is served piping hot to me so every bites to it is so fresh and good! I had wanted to try this restaurant for a while so i decided to have lunch there. As i am not a fan od spicy food, i order the chicken flavored with lemon and herb sauce. I ordered a quarter chicken with Cous Cous Salad and butter rice. Both the Cous Cous Salad and butter rice salad tasted good. I had the chicken with hot peri peri but not that spicy as I thought, added some extra hot sauce on my own later ;p Chicken was tender but would be even better if the meat could be thicker ;p Bread was just ok. Instead of mango bits, I only tasted mango syrup/sauce I had peri chips and grilled vegetable as side dishes which were good! Nando's is about tasting and trying every chicken creation that they have.So this time, I ordered the Angry Mango Burger. I don't know why this burger is angry, but it's definitely pleasing me. The little spiciness of the grilled chicken paired with sweet mango cubes make this a splendid burger! There are seats arranged in a semi-circle style for cosy gatherings and bar seats near the window for viewing the streets outside.Unlike my first visit, the Hot chicken is cooked better and spicier than before. Nando's is all about chicken. Chicken is on their menu and it is on their facade and walls. It was originally from South Africa and the Tanglin outlet is its 2nd outlet in Singapore. If it's your first time there, I would recommend the Chicken Meals to get a taste of their chicken and sidelines rather than ordering the items separately as it would cost more. The meals are served in different types of chicken dishes and portions of chicken.Here's how the ordering for the chicken works. You choose the flavour of your chicken. It's based on 3 levels of spiciness - Lemon & Herb, Mild Peri-Peri, Hot Peri-Peri and Extra Hot Peri-Peri.I ordered 1 Hot chicken with Peri Potato Salad and Mediterranean Rice, 1 Lemon & Herb Chicken with Peri Chips and Peri 3 Bean Salad, and 2 glasses of soft drinks - Orange and Coke. Basically, I feel there's not much difference in flavour between the chickens, but I prefer Lemon & Herb as the skin of the chicken is crispier.To accentuate the taste of the chicken, try it with their 4 types of sauces - Tomato, Garlic, Hot and Extra Hot. Garlic is my favourite among the spicy sauces and I feel that the spicier it gets, the greater I dislike the taste. I was from the Botanics, hence the reason why the only place to eat in a big friendly portion was Nando's. I mean, sure, although it's overrated in its taste it doesn't mean it's not edible! I'd eat anything and well, the chicken thighs under peri-peri of course is edible! This time, I tried with a different side line, the potato salad and fries (fries never get boring). While the chicken was OK this time - hellooooo big thighs, the potato salad in round balls has a refreshing taste - but I didn't know until I rodered two sideline, potato base, makes me a bit sick. Tomato and mild spicy sauce helps a loooooooot here. But really, these sidelines are not just benchwarmers to the plate! What's unique about Nandos is definitely the way they cook their chicken that seems to be healthier as compared to KFC or even Popeyes and their special sauces. I'm a fan of the garlic peri-peri sauce and super hot peri-peri. Chicken is juicy and not overcooked. Oh for those of you who can't take spicy food, opt for the non-peri/hot chicken. If you are one of those peeps, well, you're missing out on alot coz the chicken would go really well with the HOT peri-peri sauce!!! For side dish, try the peri chips and corn cob.
