Last week, I was buzzing with excitement to dine at Ocean Restaurant in Sentosa, lured by the promise of a magical meal surrounded by an enchanting aquarium 🌊. The thought of savoring fine cuisine while fish danced around us had me hooked! But oh, what a letdown it turned out to be 😔.The adventure started on a sour note—no clear signs to guide us to the restaurant! 🗺️ We wandered around Sentosa, feeling like lost explorers, frustrated and hungry before we even found the entrance 😣. When we finally arrived, the aquarium view was as breathtaking as advertised, with vibrant sea creatures gliding by 🐟✨. But that was where the magic ended. The food, sadly, didn’t live up to the hype. Several dishes were so salty they could’ve seasoned the entire ocean 🧂😖, completely drowning out any delicate flavors. Most of the plates were just… meh, nothing special for a place claiming fine-dining status 🍽️. With prices that made my wallet wince 💸, I expected culinary artistry, not average fare. To top it off, the restrooms were shared with the public space—hardly the upscale vibe I was hoping for 🚻😒. It felt like a budget pitstop, not a premium experience. The aquarium ambiance was a sparkling highlight 🌟, but it couldn’t salvage the meal. Ocean Restaurant needs to step up with better signage, tastier dishes, and exclusive facilities to justify those steep prices. Until then, this is one dining adventure I won’t rush to repeat 🚤.查看更多

The restaurant is amazing for its views of the ocean, but that’s about it. The service is slow and the food is mediocre. I can tell they are trying to make everything feel and taste gourmet. However, just because you serve everything in small portions doesn’t make it gourmet. Lastly, the menu is very limited in selection. Everything is a set menu and you are offered very few choices. I really cannot recommend this restuarant for the food or service. Only the view is worth it. However, if you want amazing views of fish, please go visit the S.E.A. Aquarium.查看更多

World-renowned celebrity chef Cat Cora has finally opened her seventh and first restaurant in Asia at Resorts World Sentosa. Located inside the S.E.A. Aquarium, Ocean Restuarants by Cat Cora provide diners the opportunity to enjoy the magnificent view of the Open Oceanhabitat whilst enjoying a truly memorable dining experience. It is definitely a place to visit once in your life time. It was the first time bf helps me celebrate birthday after we got together. As such, he wanted to give me a memorable birthday celebration. After research, he decided on this and surprises me with the magnificent view of the restaurant. It’s my first fine dining experience so I was rather excited and awe by the finedisplay of the cutlery. For dinner dining, each diner needs to meet a minimum spending of $68. As such, we have a hard time choosing what we want for dinner since we do not want to create a big hole in the pocket by over-ordering.Do bear in mind that the food tends to be served very slowly so that you can enjoy theatmosphere. So take the chance to enjoy the view like what we did. After much thought, we decided on Chilled Watermelon & Tomato Gazpacho ($24), 42°C Sous Vide Salmon ($28), Rougie Duck Breast ($55), Banana Negative ($18) and Green & Red ($24).Amuse Bouche: a small complimentary appetizer offered by the restaurantChilled Watermelon & Tomato Gazpacho ($24) 42°C Sous Vide Salmon ($28)Rougie Duck Breast ($55)Banana Negative ($18) Green & Red ($24)My complimentary mango birthday cake. All in all, I really enjoy the magnificent view and great service in ocean restaurants. The food tends to be pricey. So it would worth your visit for special occasion. It’s a place to visit at least once in your lifetime. I guess it would take us a while to recover from hole in ourpocket. Good sea view with different types of sea species can be seen in this restaurant when you dine in here. Service was very friendly and warm as well, with very spacious dining environment as well. Love their cold fresh oysters which are really huge and with no stingy smell in it. Really smooth in texture and very easy to eat. Pumpkin soup was smooth and creamy, with they natural sweet pumpkin flavour as well. For more than $50 per meal, is expensive but worth your money. 查看更多

I specially made a reservation at Ocean Restaurant opened by Cat Cora for my boyfriend's birthday more than a month in advance to secure a good seating. What has attracted me was its exquisite fine dining experience, dining with the fishes. The waiters served us complimentary tomato based mousse and bread while waiting for our starters and main courses. I personally like the king crab salad a lot which I ordered for starter a lot (though the portion is pretty small but what do you expect from fining dining). As for the king salmon main course which I ordered, it took me by surprise as well because I'm not a fan of raw food but the salmon was not raw at all! The platter of passion fruit, banana and chocolate that I had was fabulous as well! Can't comment much on what my boyfriend ordered because I didn't try all of them except mont blanc. If you're fan of chestnut, you'll definitely love mont blanc! Worth experiencing dining at ocean restaurant once in a lifetime (but it's costly)! 查看更多

For pictures and full review, pls visit:http://madamechewy.com/2013/12/13/ocean-restaurant-by-cat-cora/Opened by world renowned Iron Chef Cat Cora, Ocean Restaurant is her 7th restaurant and the 1st in Asia. It offers a one of a kind dining experience. Guest can dine right next to the world’s largest aquarium-spectacular 18.2 million litre Open Ocean Habitat which houses more than 100,000 marine animals from over 800 species, including huge manta rays.We made reservations a few weeks in advance. Upon requesting for a table next to the aquarium, I was informed that tables will be allocated on a first come first served basis. We arrived early and were glad that our efforts were rewarded!Mirrors are installed on the other side of the restaurant so that diners can still enjoy the view (albeit it’s a reflection) should their backs face the stunning aquarium.Ocean Restaurant features seasonal, light and sustainable seafood with Californian and Mediterranean accents, with Asian influences. Most of the service staff seemed pre-occupied, perhaps because of the closed door event that was going to take place in the afternoon. The sweet and friendly waitress who attended to us assisted with picture-taking eagerly. She informed us that Ocean Restaurant changed the set lunch menu recently. Her command of English was not very good so we communicated in Mandarin. Each course was served at a tortoise-slow pace. We welcome this as it gave us ample time to admire the magnificent view. I get the feeling that this is deliberate.Set lunch cost $60++ for a starter, main and dessert. Choices are limited but well-selected. Diners can choose from 6 starters, 6 main courses and 3 desserts. If do not wish to have the set meal, the minimum spend per pax is $38+. Drinks are on the high side- $8 for still or sparkling water and $6 for a glass of soft drink or bottled juice (no tap water).I expected a bread basket but there was none. Usually fine dining places always have complimentary bread. Oh well. Perhaps the restaurant should look into this because food servings are petite; we didn’t feel full at the end of the meal.Cabbage and Bacon Soup with Chicken liver mousse, toasted brioche and truffle oil ($18). The creamy, savory soup went well with the toasted brioche in the middle, adorned with onions and spring onions which gave a nice crunch.42°C Sous Vide Salmon ($24) served with textures of lemon and dukkah spice. Dukkah is an Egyptian spice mixture blended from nuts, seeds and tasty spices. The most distinct flavours I detected were peppercorn and cumin. The right way to enjoy this dish was to get a bit of everything into one bite. Flavours combined beautifully- subtle smokiness from the soft and fresh salmon, lemon textures provided sour and zesty flavours while dukkah spice added a wow factor. A must-try signature dish!Cooked for 12 hour hours, the tender and well-marinated Miso braised Kurobuta Pork Belly ($35) with crispy skin blew us away. Served with sautéed wakame, fermented bean curd and rice cracker.Slow Cooked Salmon, creamed cauliflower, Hazelnut and Cauliflower Tempura ($34). Although it’s thoroughly cooked, it tasted a bit too raw for me. But this is my personal opinion as I dislike raw meat. Hubby loved it though; to him it was heavenly. Just barely cooked tenderness retained oils of the fish, coupled with bursts of flavour from the caviar; it was the best salmon dish he ever had. The cauliflower tempura added a special touch to the dish, I have never tried it before and am glad to say it was well fried. It didn’t feel oily and was satisfying. Mont Blanc ($22). Smooth chestnut paste with hints of alcohol atop crunchy hazelnut meringue, with vanilla ice cream. An excellent dessert. Chocolate, passion fruit and banana combinations can never go wrong! My Chocolate Passion ($18) consisted of banana stew, 68% Cocoa Ice cream and Passion fruit espuma. I loved the small sponge cake underneath the ice cream; it was great for mopping up the plate. Don’t wish to waste a single bit! Fresh rosemary herbs added a unique flavour to the dessert. Athough the food was not filling, I felt the hefty price is justifiable as the quality of the food is good, while the ambiance is breathtaking and romantic. I appreciated the peaceful setting. One can comfortably admire the marine animals without being disturbed by screaming children or getting shoved over by unruly people (common occurrences in SEA Aquarium).Attention seeking Stingray which swam past our table more than 20 times, lol!Oh look, here come the manta rays! They remind me of Batman’s car…cool and sleek!查看更多

The first thing you stepped in, you’ll be snapping photos and wow-ing over the majestic ocean habitat view. The price may be steep as its minimum spending of $25 per pax - but it’s really worth what you’re paying for. We had a Cod Fillet ($46), Beef Rib ($48) and a glass of White Wine ($11). I can't remember the exact names for it but both dishes were really nicely done. The beef rib is really tender and juicy, it's so good for the portion is really small here so may not be satisfying enough! The cod fillet is fresh and succulent accompanied with a sauce (I can't figure out what sauce is it) that is really a well combination. No doubt. Everyone should visit here at least once! The idea of dining in Ocean Restaurant has been in my back of mind for a long time since I had visited the World Largest Aquarium since February this year but was turned down by the restaurant due to overwhelming responses - their seating were full.Fortunately, my wish was granted when I received some RWS wining meal vouchers through a lucky draw by a Bank.Probably due to its novelty of dining by the side of the world largest aquarium, it was rather hard to grab its dinner slot, thus we had confirmed dining during the lunch hours instead.Entrance is located at basement carpark, for those who are not driving and not entering the aquarium, they can actually hop onto the buggy to get there. But if you are visiting the S.E.A Aquarium, you can access the entrance via there. My favourite color is blue and naturally I'm drawn to such beautiful environment especially when the interior was filled with ocean blue as its backdrop. Enticed by the dining environment and its spectacular view, everyone of us would have take out their mobile and had great pictures by the side of the glass panels. How beautiful and amazing ambience with school of fishes swam across my vision at intervals. Having dine beside such view was a life enjoyment, perhaps better than any sky dining experience. Ups for the ambiance! Dining set was already lined up on the table with the napkin rolled up. Just shortly we had seated, the servers showed their professions by placing the napkins onto our laps. For the non alcoholic beverages, we had a glass of Ice Lemon Tea and Cranberry Juice to pair our lunch. Fried Pork Seafood Roulade was yummy and reminds me of a cut section from Ngoh Hiong. Looks like a fusion of chinese and french cuisine. It was fried to golden brown crisp, made up of chicken egg yolk, sweet muscat vinaigrette and ginger oil. The roll packed a crunchy noise in every bite with the chestnuts fillings. the only let down of this dish was that the vinaigrette sprinkled on the appetizer was miserable. When it felt wrong and ironical to have Sashimi with the live fishes swimming in front of you. It's just like telling the fishes "Look! I'm eating your pals!"The pieces of yellow tail (hamichi) was prepared with Sake Mirin Emuslion. While I'm searching for wasabi, there was none and I found out that they tastes great even without those spicy raddish. The dish was rather refreshing with citrus juice from the grapefruit. Texture of the dish was enhanced by adding Avruga Caviar & pink radish ice.Braised Boneless Wagyu was paried with celeriac Puree, Sauteed Mushroom and Caramelized Oat meal. Flawlessly prepared, the meat was crispy at the exterior with even wellness and filled with juiciness as I chewed. Light & satisfying indeed.Slow cooked salmon was adorned by the popping fish orange roes on the small slab of rolled up salmon accompanied by cauliflower tempura, cream cauliflower and hazel nuts. The salmon was put under fire in slow process in such that the meat of the inner and outer was consistently cooked. It tasted abit raw and abit cooked. Just like the wellness of the beef, medium well. Finally, the WoW reactions had come out from me. We looked at the desserts with wide opened eyes, it never disappoint. Vacherin had textures of Strawberry with Creme Fraiche. Presentation was lovely as it seems, just too bad that the portion was small. Mont Blanc make up of hazelnut Meringue, Chestnut Paste and Vanilla Ice Cream. Artistically designed with a cross pattern with golden glittering color drawn on the plate which makes the dessert stands up and live up to its namesake. Overall, I find that Ocean Restaurant Food was not as bad as I had read, I find them quite ok with a surprised in the desserts. How about it's service? Perhaps their service had improved over time, they were prompt in clearing away the emptied plates. For fine dining in Singapore, I find that it is a norm to be costly and if not for the winning meal vouchers I would not even have the chance to step into such restaurant given its moderate reviews. After handing in the $100 RWS Meal Vouchers, we still have to fork out about $60. Well, looking at the price tag and quality, it's unlikely I would make a return unless I had friends who wanted to visit this place.Notes1) Reservations to be advanced to avoid disappointment(2) Carpark fees are expensive. We parked about 1 hour sharp costing $11.(3) Minimum spending of $38 ++ per person is required.(4) Place was rather cold, wear abit more. (5) No serving of plain water. For complete reviews and pictures, please visit http://www.umakemehungry.com/2013/11/ocean-restaurant-dine-by-aquarium.html查看更多

The restaurant is pretty. You get an awesome view of the fishes swimming in the aquarium. Ordered a tasting of Oysters to start of as appetizers. Was pretty disappointed with them. It had a variety of sauces but none of them was outstanding and the oysters did not taste that fresh. I rather still have it with simple lemon and tabasco. For main, I had baby lamb loin. This dish I enjoyed very much. The lamb was tender and nicely flavoured. There was truffle sprinkled on the top that adds on to the flavour. Only problem was the portion is very small for a $58 dish. But I suppose that's what find dining is all about. For dessert, I ordered a Chocolate passion. It was an interesting dish with a variety of things from passion fruit jelly to stewed banana. But sad to say, all put together, it just tasted so weird. Out of the 3 dishes, I only enjoyed my main course. Though the view and ambience of this place was fantastic, I am not sure if I will ever return again. For the kind of price I am paying, I am expecting to be wowed every single time I send their food into my mouth.查看更多

I’m a person who seeks un-pretentious, hearty food that I can tell exactly what it is I am eating. Unfortunately, my visit to Ocean Restaurant did not turn out to be a very satisfying one. Ocean Restaurant is submerged underwater at the S.E.A Aquarium in Resorts World Sentosa and you’ll need to hop on a buggy from the basement carpark area to get there. The interior of the restaurant is designed using rather muted colors and feels like you’ve just stepped into a cruise ship or a submarine. Stretched across the entire length of the restaurant is a majestic viewing panel looking out into the world’s largest aquarium. The expanse of endless blue can be quite mesmerizing and soothing to the senses. And it makes for a perfect location to bring your date, if only the food was better.A pungent Burnt Onion Soup to start off the meal is really exactly what everyone wishes to have for their romantic night out (being sarcastic here). Pair it up with Black Truffle and I can guarantee that there will be no frenching for the rest of the evening. Imagine taking 10 onions, sautéing them until slightly burnt, then blending it all down into a single espresso cup. Not the most ideal way to start a romantic dinner, really. After that overpowering soup, I was dragged across to the other end of the taste spectrum with a rather bland Alaskan Crab Salad ($30). Topped with mashed up avocado, the crab meat sits in a pool of chilled corn soup. Avocado and crab meat is an awesome pairing but I probably would have enjoyed this dish more if I didn’t still have that aftertaste of the Burnt Onion Soup in my mouth. For the main course, I ordered the Seared Kurobuta Pork Belly and Fried Octopus ($60). While it looked rather appetizing, I didn’t quite comprehend the flavours in this dish. First, you have pork belly sitting in a pool of soy sauce and right next to it is a puree of apple-sauerkraut. Then you have some mashed up cabbage in a roll and a dollop of mustard on the side. Sweet, salty, sour, spicy, bland – all in a single dish. Not to mention that the Fried Octopus has a really strong fishy taste to it too. I just can’t begin to imagine why anyone would enjoy having such an adventurous symphony of tastes in a single dish.Another letdown is the dessert – Dark Chocolate Brownie Pistachio & Ice Cream ($25). Even Häagen-Dazs serves better brownies than this, though the chocolate espuma on the side was rather good. The brownie on its own was airy and crumbly, not the moist and rich type of cake that I love.Overall, the food failed to impress me on so many levels and even with the awesome view of the aquarium, I left the restaurant feeling rather unsatisfied. Would I recommend this restaurant to anyone (even for the ‘once in a lifetime’ dining experience)? Definitely not. If you want to be wow-ed by the spectacular view of the marine life, please just get your S.E.A. Aquarium tickets for $33 and not waste money eating at Ocean Restaurant.查看更多

Hearing much hype about S.E.A. and this new ocean restaurant, a group of friends and I finally found a day to check it out. The ambience was amazing, especially with the front row view, looking at all the fishes that swims by.We were served with fancy-shaped dinner roll/breads after we made our orders; bread tasted so-so.Pumpkin Soup with Foie gras is amazing, creamy and delicious; the taste of the seared foie gras lingers in your mouth and doesn’t overpower the sweet pumpkin taste. Calamari Salad with crispy breaded squid and fresh crunchy vegetables; vinaigrette dressing makes the whole dish pops.I ordered the grilled rib eye steak mediumwell, it was cooked as per my request, the thick charred beef is well marinated and toothsome. Served with appetizing pickled onions and fresh herb salsa.Robust red wine sauce goes beautifully with the steak.Overall experience is unforgettable, just like the price tag. You’re better off buying a ticket to SEA if you’re only interested in the ambience.查看更多

For details, please visit http://www.foodesteem.blogspot.sg/2013/07/ocean-restaurant.htmlLunch menu is actually quite straightforward. Choose either 2 course ($42.00++) or 3 course ($55.00++) set lunch, and select from a minimal list of dishes. Or, you can go for ala carte, which is pretty much more expensive. One of our starter was Sous Vide 48 degree King Salmon ($26.00++). Salmon is pretty fresh!Another starter was Deep Fried Calamari & Prawns ($22.00++). Squeeze the lemon, and dip it with their spicy aioli sauce... Not bad For the mains, we had Baby Lamb Rack wih Gremolata ($46.00++), and Wagyu Short Rib ($46.00++). Love their crispy cheese croquette, and of course the soft, juicy wagyu beef!To be honest, I am enjoying every bit of their food and time spent in Ocean Restaurant For details, please visit http://www.foodesteem.blogspot.sg/2013/07/ocean-restaurant.html查看更多

For a Full review and other pictures, please go to http://princessmic80.blogspot.sg/2013/05/of-dining-underwater-ocean-restaurant.htmlThe atmosphere is rather romantic with fish swimming around you but i find the food is rather costly and personally, i only like their cod fish dish. I am giving them a very poor rating on customer service. We asked for the menu for the second time and it never came at all. We tried their wagyu beef, it was really tough and overcooked we feel. Their lamb on the other end, looks very raw. only their cod fish is ok. Seriously we are quite disappointed with the dinner that night.查看更多

I brought my birthday boy here for his 25th, and nothing fascinated him more than the idea of dining with the manta rays!http://static3.sg.orstatic.com/UserPhoto/photopending/0/EV/002XQO0D1F19AE21757577c.jpgReservations are a MUST, because we arrived at 2.30pm and inly got ur table st 4pm. This was the seat right next to the aquarium where the rays and fishes would swim by. http://static1.sg.orstatic.com/UserPhoto/photopending/0/EV/002XQP8F4C0867495E0C79c.jpgThe menu is pretty limited, but I would say the dining experience made up for it well. The service was excellent, but do try to make it within lunch hours for their 3-course lunch menu. There was a particukar dish that I wanted to try-grilled prawns. Sadly, it was not available on the ala carte menu. The black mussels dish was the best pick in the menu. We also had the fish, chips and squid- not recommended for its price. The beef burger had a dry patty despite a generous serving, so no to that as well. The idea of having selected asian dishes in the menu was a bonus. The chicken braised in oriental sauce served sith steamed rice was really good! It fared even better than the western dishes I have to say. I would not be back so soon though, its one of the places where the novelty lies in dining with the fishes, but the food is hardly a draw for one to go back for more. Perhaps when a friend visits from overseas, and wants to have an extraordinary dining experience. Food: 7/10Experience:10/10 Price: 8/10查看更多
