For more food pictures, go to http://princessmic80.blogspot.sg/2013/11/authentic-and-healthy-korean-food-oh.htmlHavent been to Telok Ayer Street for dinner for a while and little i know that i have been missing alot of good stuff there. Especially this one! Located at one of the shop houses along Telok Ayer Street, this restaurant is opened by a Korean boss Will Jeong, a super friendly boss that served authentic and healthy korean food. So do i know that the food is authentic? Well, the chef is also a korean too! dining experience there really brings me back to my memories of my Korean trip!Oh Neul Han Jeom is very well known for their Korean BBQ. But, i am sharing with you another dish that is not BBQ this time!Budae Jjigae @ $35. It is actually stew with ham (luncheon meat), sausage, kimchi and toufu! it comes with Ramen but u need to top up additional $5 for it. but trust me, the ramen is really worth it! it is so yummy that you will ask for more! the stew is served in steamboat style ( with korean pot) and i can tell you, it is flooded with alot of ingredients so it is totally worth every single cent! The soup is super good and i super love it! it is not too salty nor it is too sweet. I think the chef must know that we are super hungry so the noodles is already more or less cooked so it just need to get heated in the steamboat and we can just dug into it! did i also mention that i love their fish cake? lolxHaemul Pajeon @$20 bucks. this is highly recommended by the waiter and i tell you. you will never regret ordering this cos this is the best korean pancake that i ever had so far! the pancake is cripsy on the outside but soft on the inside. Filled with alot of ingredients ( not like others that you find nothing inside but starch and miserable veges). and never to be missed is the refillable side dishes..i love the side dishes! especially their kimchi and also the salad! is soo good...that i ask for second serving but i stop after the second one cos the food we ordered is too big servings and we need to ask for takeaway (for the pancake).Food : ****Price : ***Customer service : ****Overall, will i come again? Yes! i cant wait to try their korean BBQ 繼續閱讀

Highly recommended by my sis’s bf Oh Neul Han Jeom, so went to check it out.We had Pajeon, Fluffy big slabs of crispy-fried egg and flour mixture blankets fresh scrumptious seafood and aromatic spring onions, their dipping sauce might be one of the best I ever had, heady, deep, and flavorsome.Kimchi Jjigae, Hot and bubbling red colored kimchi soup packed with the goodness and flavor of the crunchy fermented cabbage (kimchi) and thinly sliced succulent pork belly. Jeyuk, Mouthwatering stir fried pork in chili sauces tantalized my taste buds even before it was place on the table as I can smell the aromatic sizzling chili cooking on the hotplate used to dish the food. Spicy pork was tender and appetizing. Would recommend to order their set meals if you have a budget and wanted to have True authentic Korean food. 繼續閱讀

It was about 5.30pm and I was already at Telok Ayer Street waiting for 6pm (as the restaurants only operates from 6pm onwards at every evenings.) I was kind of surprised to see that the shop was opened when I walked pass.Warmly greeted with the Korean's "WELCOME" (Ang Yong Ha Say Yo) by the korean lady with a smile. She handled the menu to us and went back to her preparations work. Her staff came serving us with some cold drinks while we were referring to the menu.Oh Neul Han Jeom uses the infra red technology of BBQ stove which reduces the smoke and smell from the BBQ session. The BBQ stove is in build on a table of 4. After making our orders, the lady switched it on to let it warm up.We ordered the one set meal that comes with 1 main dish, Bangyetang (Ginseng Chicken Soup) & some other side dishes. Side dishes : Cold Tou Fu (Front) & Bean Sprouts with big heads (Back)Side dishes : Pickled Onion (Front) & Salad (Back) Side dishes : Kimchi Vegetables (Middle)Eggs are cooked and served in the mini claypot with bright color of greens (spring onions) on top - a special method of serving eggs. Soft and spongy egg with burnt smell within the eggs. Eggs /food sticking on the walls of the claypot are burnt ("Chao Ta").Woosamgyeop (Beef Brisket). Yammy!Skillfully sliced and placed onto the plate in circular manner with some ganishings over it. Presentable looking and most importantly service is a must especially when having Korean BBQ. Costs: $25The lady is very polite to caution me by saying excuse me and make way for her to do the BBQ as she use the thongs and place the beef briskets on the BBQ pit with care. Pancake with green onion (Pajeon) is not bad. Thin & crispy by the side.Costs: $18 Ginseng Soup (Bangyetang) is quite peppery at first but after added the given salt, there are more taste. Soup is not as cloudy as expected, few balls of glutinous rice can be found when I stirred till the bottom. As the essence has gone all to the soup, the chicken meat are tasteless, not very sweet and the strong frozen taste tells you straight away that it was once frozen. I would prefer something stronger in ginseng taste. Costs: $15Yangnyeom moksal (Marinated grilled pork) that comes with mushrooms are great too!Meat are carefully cut with a pair of scissors by the lady before placing into the BBQ pit. Cubes of tasty grilled meat are well marinated by the Korean lady who served us. Juicy and goes very well with the sweet korean chilli sauce. The overall spending for our dinner for 2. Decent pricing for a nice Korean dinner. Recommendations and TipsCloser to the kitchen, there are a stretch of seating which are more enclosed, it is suitable for group gatherings especially. Another place added to my list of gathering places!I know of many who dont really enjoy korean BBQ due to the stinky smell all over the body and bags after the meal. However Oh Neul Han Jeom had took the effort to reduce the smoke and smell, it is a definitely another korean place not to be missed. 繼續閱讀

One thing I like about Oh Neul Han Jeom is that it doesnt really stink as much as other korean restaurants with bbq option. That is one thing I am really scared of, to leave a restaurant with my hair stink of the heavy bbq smoke smell. OMHJ uses a technique called Infra Red BBQ, which minimized the amount of smoke while u are bbq-ing the food.Quality of the food is good too, and fresh. You will not missed the freshness and well marination of the meat. Though a bit pricey and they doesn't have the buffet menu (ala carte only!), I think it is worth it for the fact u are getting back the quality of the food not quantity.Try their magic cup filled with Korean beer! Definitely will blast you off on how refreshing and light it taste. 繼續閱讀

Everyone around me has been raving about this place. One evening, I finally made it here for a gathering. The place looks like an authentic Korean restaurant, from the interior to the decor. It's best suited to big groups and it's actually very noisy inside so you needn't worry about keeping quiet or lowering your voice. We ordered loads to share. Unfortunately I cannot remember any of the names of the dishes so I hope pictures will do for now (one of the things I struggle with for Korean cuisine). The pork belly (first image) was very good and they were generous with the slices. The pancake (second picture) was actually so-so, but it was quite forgettable. Not to say it was bad or anything though. We also ordered some beef thingy which tasted superb (third picture). Some other items that were not captured include Budae Jjigae soup (stew with ham, sausage, kimchi and tofu) and more beef stuff. The portions here are actually quite small, so much so that we had to order a second round of meat. I was still hungry after, but then again I have a huge appetite! ONHJ's also on the pricey side but the food's definitely worth the price. I want to come back! 繼續閱讀
