A generous treat from a rich guy, he invited us to have a big feast at Owen Seafood Restaurant. I love Seafood indeed, I can say my whole family also like it. Reached there, the place has huge dining area spreading across two levels with simple décor. Service was friendly, staffs greeted us with polite attitude. We sat down and started flipping Menu.Fresh Prawns were succulent, texture was crispy tender without over-cooked. The paste stirred it up was flavourful, cucumbers and pineapples hidden at the bottom were delightfully refreshing. Shrimps after taking off shell were overwhelmed by its natural sweetness, the pot was aromatic tangy. Accompanied my plain rice, the combination was awesome enough. Total of five huge prawns, the set was a luxury dinner for me.

Was at Owen's to satisfy my craving for some fresh seafood. Love the concept of the restaurant as you get to pick your seafood just outside the restaurants (tons of different kind/types of seafood available thus no disappointment!) and the person will catch them live for you right in front of you. After which you go back to your seat and choose the cooking style comfortably. I love the crabs (mud crab) as there are so fresh yet much cheaper than what you have outside. I chose the cooking style to be in chili sauce and ordered a few pieces of fried mantou to dip in to the thick gooey chili crab sauce. Not to mention, the crab which I had chose is huge and the crawl is very huge! Fresh and juicy and sweet, this is definitely worth my money!

For a place like Owen seafood where they are known for their freshness and high quality, I was surprised to taste some odd muddy flavour in the Gong Gong in Gong Bao sauce. The strong tasting sauce was not even enough to hide it. It wasn't very pleasant although I was able to ignore it if I eat with some rice. For a basic dish, the freshness of the seafood is essential hence I was slightly disappointed.

Owen Seafood is one of my favorite place to go for some really fresh seafood. In my opinion, I think their food is much more tastier than those big brands outside and best of all you get to choose your seafood right outside their restaurant. There's also a 50% off all live seafood during weekdays and 40% off all seafood during weekends and PH.I will always order their tiger prawns whenever I visited the place. You get to choose what kind of cooking method you prefer for your seafood and you will never go wrong with their herbal prawn soup served in a claypot. The soup is superb together with the fresh prawns being cooked to perfection. Soon Hock fish is a mush when I am there, and they will help you choose the size of the fish according to how many diners is with you. Tried their chili crabs too - the crab crawl is as big as my palm (no joke). Other than live seafood, we also ordered their prawn paste chicken and some stirred fried greens, which tasted good too.One thing to compliment is their service - the aunty who is serving us that day is very friendly and fast in cleaning up our dirty plates. Thumbs up!

Steam fish just makes me think of home. Fish that are steamed needs to be fresh and this fish definietly is. This steam fish and not only fresh but the fish meat is soft. The fish is steamed just right and together with the sauce and garnishes, the fish is really very good. However, the portion is quite big so it is better if a group went together to eat it. This fish is nice with red cut chilli too.
