 Our mains arrived first instead. Thick rice noodles served in aromatic fish-based tamarind broth with shredded pineapple, lettuce, red chilli, cucumber, onion, and lemon grass topped with shrimp paste and mint leave. They were not spicy nor too sour but rather such combination was just nice.

 This set main looked appetizing with its presentation which consisted of Deep fried chicken served with fried rice and fried egg. Curry sauce was separated and the amounts can be controlled base on customer likings.

 Available in half or a dozen.These 6 sticks of meats were marinated in lemongrass and tumeric then hand skewered to bring out its fragrance and unique taste. This delicacy was a concept originated from Jawa, Indonesia but has grown to become popular in South East Asian Countries, especially Malaysia.

Their homemade satay sauce was unique, chunky and sweet. The only let down of this this was perhaps the fibres of the lemon grass that was stucked in between the teeth after eating.

 We had chosen the cendol version served in bowl than those in the cups with red beans or soya milk as part of the combination. Tasted average and without much Gula Melaka included.

 Dishes and concept of Papparich was more or less similar to what we have in Old Town's Cafe but I will say that their mains are of a better fight.

 The Hainanese Toasted Bread with Butter & Sugar was a thick toast well toasted with a crusty, toasty surface but retaining a fluffy interior. The butter was well spread over the bread and there was a reasonable amount of sugar sprinkled.

 The Wholemeal Bakar with Margarine and Kaya had a generous spread of kaya and margarine but was a bit inconsistent with few pieces having more kaya and vice versa. The Bakar itself was toasted but still fluffy. While the dish was quite faultless, it just lacked a wow-factor.

 Presented in a steamer, the Steamed Otak-Otak was easily one of the best looking dishes of the day. The fish was bouncy and provided a nice chew. The marination seemed significantly light but was still rather tasty. The fish paste could be more consistent in texture though; there was a huge chunk of fish in the Otak-Otak that ruined the texture of it.

 The Char Kway Teow seemed rather promising on first look, but seemed rather usual in its taste. Adding on to the disappointment was the texture; the Kway Teow were all sticky and clumped up together in a lump, and the prawns felt pretty overcooked as well.

 A rather wholesome dish, the Curry Laksa Noodles came with condiments such as Chicken and Fish Cake. It was rather balanced in flavour without being too spicy nor too coconuty, giving an old-school taste for the dish. The chicken were also rather tender and came off from the bone easily. It would have been better if the Curry Laksa gravy was more flavourful as it might come off as slightly bland for people who enjoy heavy-tasting food.

While the meal at Papparich felt generally average with several misses, one of its main drawbacks would be the pricing. Many of the items felt rather overpriced for its quality and portions, which might discourage patrons to return for a meal in the future.

Fried rice with egg $7.90. This fried rice was quite bland and tasteless and tasted somewhat like fried rice. There were only eggs in the rice and presentation wise, did not look good either. I will not recommend you to get this! super rich combo $16.90This tasted like a poor version of chicken briyani. It has a fried drumstick, a few cubes of beef, half an egg, half a lady finger, 2 pieces of biscuit and a small potato. The rice's taste (filled with the star-shaped spices) was too strong. The t

This tasted like a poor version of chicken briyani. It has a fried drumstick, a few cubes of beef, half an egg, half a lady finger, 2 pieces of biscuit and a small potato. The rice's taste (filled with the star-shaped spices) was too strong. The taste of the ingredients were not satisfactory for that type of price and quite expensive too. Don't bother getting this.

Food is overpriced and taste is not quite there too.

Prawn noodles kway tiao with some chicken tasted quite good. It costed $9.90. The soup was rich and good. the kway tiao was smooth too. Pancake like bread with kaya $3.50This was something different from the usual bread but it was not crispy. Kaya spread was sweet. Curry laksa $9.90This was rather tasteless. The curry had no distinguish curry taste in it and was a disappointment. There were cockles in it too. Don't try this and if you do, don't place high hopes on it.
