When I was working near Somerset 313 and was feeling down and exhausted with my never ending pile of work (especially on a Monday with monday blues), I would drop by Food Republic for my favourite Pepper Lunch for lunch. My regular order would be the curry chicken pepper lunch (with cheese) as I like my food spicy. The reason why I love the food at Pepper Lunch is because everything sizzles on the plate! With bite-size chicken pieces that gets cooked on the hot plate, piping hot rice with bits of seasame and curry powder on it and the melted cheese all over, it just warms your heart and makes you feel happy all over again. You can even add $1 for an extra egg to your meal! One of my favourite places!

Here is my pepper lunch at somerset 313! I ordered the salmon pepper rice with student meal discount at $6.50 (without ice cream top up)> well, I had been a long time i ate this and I think is awesome! The salmon was fresh hence, there is was slight sweetness when cooked. I don't like the taste of pepper, but I had forget to ask them not to add in my dish! The drink i choose was ice peach tea. Well, it was sweet at first, once the ice melts it will just right for drinking. Their service was good, it took less than 10 minutes despite the queue.

Last week, I had Pepper Lunch at Food Republic at 313 Somerset. I opted for this as I thought it is a more economical choice as the Pepper Lunch Express prices are the same for all its outlets while the food like wanton mee, economical mixed vegetable rice etc sold at Food Republic is considerably more expensive than other food courts. I ordered the Teriyaki Double Salmon dish which costs $8.90. There are two slices of grilled salmon as well as corn and beansprouts. The salmon is well flavoured and it is really good. I especially loved that the salmon meat isn't overcooked and the meat is still quite tender and not too dry. The corn is sweet tasting as well. The dish was just enough to fill me up, hence for guys perhaps they will feel that it will only make them 80% full.

With the word 'express' in the restaurant's name, I really didn't expect much. To make it worse, there were only two people tending the stall and God, the queue was long. Well, I must admit those two people working that day totally blew my mind. They were fast, attentive and despite the crowd and the rush, the cashier/helper maintained her friendliness. I ordered the Pepper Steak Combo. I was really impressed. The portion of the meat they served me that day corresponds to what the picture depicts. Unlike other restaurants who show a nice and big slice of beef in the picture and then when you get your steak, TADA! Size of a McDonald's Hamburger patty. I like my steak thoroughly cooked and to my surprise the hot plate was able to do it with ease and quick! The corn and beansprouts cooked perfectly, too.Overall, everything was great. A healthy choice for you which is salmon pepper rice! So-called 'stone rice'. Salmon, sweet corn, black pepper to mix with rice, such a wonderful match-up as a meals. This was also a good recommended to those who like to eat hot dish. You have to non-stop to stir the rice while you are eating. If you stop stirring the rice from down-part, it will get burn due to the 'hot stone bowl' is steaming the rice. Ya, is quite fun and enjoyable while eating and stirring at the same time! & Of course it's nice.:bowl: photos show the set of dish, before & after stir.
