Decided to drop by after having meal at 40hands and we googled that their red velvet cupcake is a must try. We bought it and boom that's the best I've ever tasted and we recommend that you should try it with coffee as icing is on the sweet side. Definitely going back for more! …查看更多

Bought a dozen cupcakes to go.They are definitely pretty but to be honest they are very plain tasting.The red velvet was okay, the cream cheese wasn't too sweet, the cake itself was moist.The dark chocolate cupcake had crunchy little bits in there, so it was a very interesting bite. Found out about Plain Vanilla when I was checking out cupcakes to give a friend as a gift. Online reviews described it as better than Twelve Cupcakes which I had originally wanted to buy. So thought of trying it out!Besides getting a box of six as a gift ($19), I bought two to try including the carrot cake and choc hazelnut. Both flavors was really nice, moist and not too sweet... especially the choc hazelnut with a nutella choc centre, heavenly!It is cheaper to buy a box of six or twelve as one cupcake will cost $3.50.Love the rustic look of the bakery and also the pretty packaging! With the hype of café around Tiong Bahru area, plain vanilla has also opened it second outlet around the area. Their cupcake is definitely worth trying, as it is moist and rich in flavor. Although it cost $3.50 each but with its quality it worth the amount and they have around 10 flavor to choose from, but my favorite is red velvet cupcake as it is sweet and rich in taste. …查看更多

Another hipster cafe. Plain Vanilla is a rather plain-looking shop, really beyond my imagination from how I see it on Facebook. It is another difficult shop to spot, because they have a very tiny logo outside their shop in short-form, 'pv', and it's cursive as well.There are seatings indoor but no tables, so you just have face-to-face conversations but you can't sit for long. That's rather smart of the owner, since they probably don't want us to hog the seats for the whole day. Sadly, there weren't many visitors who stayed.Okay, every cupcake is sold at $3.50. That's a consistent marketing strategy.$3.50, and the design is really a lot nicer as compared to other bakery!The drinks menu were written on cloth, which I thought suited their theme of 'plainness'.Very clear-cut. The cups are in take-away only, therefore you can't really enjoy a piping hot sit-down chill-out with friends in the heartlands of this neighbourhood.Bought Cookies N' creme (which looked really different from facebook photos) and another flavour which I forgot.
