Every time when i go to Tiong Bahru plaza, i cannot missed out this delicious black pepper chicken rice. It comes with a bowl of plain rice, a small bowl of soup and a small pan of black pepper chicken with some lettuce. Well, it cost less than $5 but the amount of it is very less. The chicken skin doesn't taste bad as you can eat it with the meat. I always love to add the sticky soup into my rice, it tastes good. My favourite part of the meal is actually the soup haha, but it is very less. It is actually quite dangerous to bring it to your seat, as when they took it out from the oven, the sauce will be boiling and it may splash on to your skin, and that hurts. Overall, i think you should really go and try it one day.

I had four customers in front of me who ordered different things like black peper chicken pots n' pans, mushroom chicken etc. but I ordered this chicken fillet and got my one first! So the service was REALLY quick if you order this dish. With a bowl of soup and rice, this yummy set cost only $3.80, cheapest in Tiong bahru's kopitiam. The portion of the rice was quite little and i was rushed to go away quickly during rush hour, and i was afraid of the sizzling sauce that may burst into bubbles and scald my hands. so if you ever go there, pretend to take your utensils slowly

At $3.80, one can get this filling set of rice, chicken and a bowl of soup. The chicken is tender though I find some parts difficult to chew because of the chicken fats and skin. The rice was a little hard and the soup was served lukewarm. The chili wasn't that appetizing, but the mushroom pepper sauce that was dripped over the chicken hot plate taste good with rice.

Good and cheap food at kopitiam. i ordered the stir fried chicken with mushroom and requested to change the chicken to pork. The pork is tender and the sauce is taste good. It comes with the soup and rice and selling at reasonable price. The soup taste like "sharkfin soup". (but there's no sharkfin inside) It costs only $3.50 for a set meal. If you carrying the kopitiam card, will have 10% further discount. It's definitely worth more than it costs. thumb up!
