Poulet is a modern French-themed bistro that offers a wide variety of French-based classics including soups, salads, sandwiches, desserts and of course, their signature rotisserie chicken.Curious about all the hype surrounding this relatively new kid on the block, we decided to give it a try.No French dining experience is complete without French Onion Soup, and the one we had did not disappoint. The thick liquid was rich, hearty and beefy, with copious quantities of fragrant caramelized onions. The obligatory croutons stayed crisp and had a rich buttery taste to them.We also had a serving of fried breaded winglets with a cranberry sauce. This was much more ordinary, with the winglets small, overly greasy and lacking flavour. The sauce seemed incompatible with the chicken, or perhaps this is just my preference. On to the star of the show - rotisserie chicken. As expected, the chicken was tender and juicy, with delicious chunks of enticingly fragrant white flesh. The jus was thick and hearty, with a rich, delightful aroma. However, one major shortcoming for me was that the entire dish was exceedingly salty. Certainly not a dish to have often, for fear of serious health issues. Even the bread pudding we had after failed to adequately wash away the salty aftertaste of the chicken. 繼續閱讀

I needed a caffeine fix, but wasn't interested in having the standard Starbucks or Coffee Bean, so the only cafe-restaurant in Jurong Point will take my money... that's Poulet. I chose a Warm Mocha coffee ($5.90++). I must say that this is one of the better mochas I've had in a while, it's not too acidic nor flat. The chocolate and coffee proportions are well-managed and full-bodied. I'm glad with my choice to go with Poulet's coffee rather than the bigger brands. Thumbs up! The strange thing about Poulet was that it was very empty at eight-plus on a weekday evening, when I thought it should be quite popular. Nevertheless, the environment was classy, comfortable and quiet (because there wasn't anybody else).  繼續閱讀

Weekday lunch promotion (around $10-$12) was what attracted me here after my first try at Poulet was a rather pleasant one. Poulet de Provence - Braised Chicken, Potato, Carrots, Dijon Mustard with White Wine served with Fragrant Rice. Rice was average tasting. The braised chicken was tender but the mustard sauce was too dry and thus made the dish taste average. Mushroom Ragout - Saute Wild Mushroom, Shallots, Garlic Double Boiled Cream with Penne Rigate: This was quite creamy but the mushrooms were good and juicy. There was a lack of garlic flavour. 繼續閱讀

onion soup ($5.80 ala carte). There was beef taste in it and the taste was quite rich. The onions were very soft. For their coffee, the presentation was neat and sugar was served separately at the side but the coffee itself was already sweet so there was no need to add in extra. It was also fragrant. The oxtail pasta (lunch promo) was on the dry side and it tasted average only which was a disappointment. 繼續閱讀

Poulet had weekday lunch promotion and we decided to try it out so here is my order but I can't remember the exact name of the dish. It is actually chicken stew and I was given a bowl of rice too. The rice was very hard and it is impossible to chew on so I only manage to finish half of it and I gave up. The chicken was slightly overcooked hence, it is quite tough to chew on. However, the potato and carrot in the stew was soft. The waiting time was quite short during lunch hour, we waited around 10 minutes. In total, we spend 40 plus for three persons which is quite worthy. 繼續閱讀
