The restaurant is one of the many restaurants under Prive Group. It is located at Marina at Keppel Bay, which offers a nice relaxing of the harbour. The restaurant specializes in modern French-inspired cuisine. The restaurant is decorated with cozy and sophisticated feel.Tonite we are having the set dinner which costs $35++ per person which is offered during the restaurant week. We start the meal with 3 types of bread, served with olive oil and vinegar. For starters oached Irish OystersWilted spinach, avruga, chive-champagne sauceI usually have oysters in raw. Although they are poached, the taste is not a big different. It goes quite well with the rich cream sauce.Beef ConsomméTruffled beef cheeks ravioli, Japanese white radish, julienne leeksThe plain looking soup is quite flavourful. For mains, we are having Grand Marnier Flambéed Maine Lobster TailSeared duck liver, mushroom herb risotto, shallot-red wine gastriqueThe lobster is quite meaty and juicy. I am surprised by the sizeable piece of melt in the mouth duck liver. The risotto is well cooked and creamy.300-Day Grain-Fed Rangers Valley Rump CapPotato mousseline, slow-cooked baby carrots, tarragon chimichurri, béarnaiseI am a bit disappointed that the staff has not asked how I would like the steak to be done when taking the order. The steak is served medium well and goes well with the herb sauce. Lastly desserts : Warm Chocolate & Peanut Butter FondantSalted caramel honey comb, vanilla bean ice creamAlthough the cake looks dry, it is just nice hot and slightly crispy edge with the molten peanut butter which flows out like lava.Banoffee PieVanilla cream Chantilly, chocolate shavingsThe pie is a bit deconstructed, but the flavours come together nicely.Overall the food is great. Service is not bad too. Light a bit so it is a bit difficult to take a good picture of the food, especially when we are seated at a dark end. The restaurant has a cozy and relaxing feel which makes one enjoys the meal very much. 繼續閱讀

I visited Prive Restaurant a few years back, so we thought it was due another visit finally. The romantic Prive Grill Restaurant is nestled at a beautiful spot named 2 Keppel Bay Vista, Singapore 098382 and the number to dial is 6776 0777.We debated whether to sit indoors and enjoy the cool-airconditioning, or to indulge in the exquisite alfresco dining here, allowing the breezes to cool our skin instead. The outdoors are tastefully furnished and each table is endorsed by Flos lamps to create a romantic ambience admist views of the sweeping marina and lush greenery. Our Appetizer came aboard finally - something that was not in the menu, a special for the night - Soft Shell Crab with Wasabi Mayo (SGD$16.00). It was rather crispy, and the crab meat was freshly-sweet. The wasabi-mayo was a tad too sweet though, and there was no hint of wasabi's stinging piquance at all. Also, don't be fooled by the seemingly thick crab as shown in this photo - there was a rather thick layer of flour encrusting this delicacy. My main course was the Seared Scallop Risoni - which came with smokey, springy scallops of sapid sumptuousness, tomatoes, basil, lobster broth and soft Orzo grains (barley-like texture). The lobster broth added the rich touch of seafood to the dish, and the entire pasta dish was rather good, though I still prefer risotto dishes. The Beau's Main Course was the Pan-Roasted Duck Breast - served with Caramelized Endive and Butternut Pumpkin. The duck breast was very rather tender, and rather ambrosial in its taste. There was also a certain chewy-ness to certain parts that appeared somewhat raw / uncooked. We didnt know if it was a deliberate effort, but as ducks could be eaten with medium doneness, we continued eating. The sweet butternut pumpkin chunks were a sweet contrast to the savoury delicacy.Prive cooks its meat on their special Spanish-imported Josper grill that leaves meat succulent yet not greasy nor dry, so this notion was much appreciated. For more detailed information and photos, please feel free to visit:http://thearcticstar.blogspot.sg/2014/04/dinner-at-prive-grill-keppel-bay.html  繼續閱讀

It was a Friday and we were in a jovial mood (duh!) so decided to take a break from work and pop by Privé for a leisurely lunch. We initially wanted a table indoors but unfortunately there was a huge party going on inside so we decided to brave the afternoon heat to escape the noise. Thankfully the sun was rather merciful that afternoon although the place could really do with more fans, especially with so many tables sharing a few miserly fans. Sitting alfresco has its upside though, offering a view of the sea and the luxurious condominiums surrounding the area.Complimentary bread - Served up warm, the complimentary bread was pretty decent, especially the walnut raisin bread - mildly sweet and fragrant with a nutty aftertaste and texture.Sautéed Mushrooms - This dish was suppose to feature truffle oil but sadly, it didn't show up. And a poached egg with a solid yolk? Seriously? Mushrooms were average by the way. Grilled Australian Grass Fed Rib Eye - I hate to say this but the rib eye was terrible. For starters, the meat was unevenly cooked with some parts being rarer than others. Also, the texture was rubbery and I had a tough time trying to chomp through it. The salt and pepper seasoning was probably the only thing that was done right. What has happened to the standard of their beef?!!Pineapple Tarte Tatin -I held a faint glimmer of hope that desserts would set our lunch right but alas, it failed to do so. The whole thing was a little too burnt with the pastry coming across as a tad too hard. Only redeeming factor was the real vanilla bean ice cream, which was smooth and a joy to consume on a hot day. At $35++/pax for such mediocre food, this was probably the worst value I had ever gotten for a set lunch. I shudder to think how dinner would turn out. Gone are the days of the good old Privé I once knew.See all my pictures at http://www.timelessfacade.com/2014/03/prive-part-ii.html 繼續閱讀

Privé Grill is part of Privé Group multi-concept F&B lifestyle venue located on the only Singapore private island – Keppel Island. This venue consist of Privé Cafe, Privé Waterfront Bar and Privé Grill. Each of the establishment cater for different dining and entertainment experience. For the followers of Chubbybotakkoala.com, you might know that it has been a tradition for us to celebrate our special occasion in a restaurant renowned for their steak. This time around, Privé Grill gets our pick. Driving in to Keppel Island created a unique experience by itself, especially when you pass Keppel Bay Vista, with a stunning view of Singapore waterfront. The Privé F&B venue is located in the Marina at Keppel Bay main drop off point. Just let the service staff beside the Privé cafe know that you are going to the Privé Grill, they will lead the way. The dining area is set in a modern fine dining setting. White table clothes, clean setting, dimmed lights with romantic candle on the tables. A excellent environment to dine for those special or romantic occasions. At the beginning, we were served sweet potato chips, followed by bread basket after the service staff took our order. A plus point about this place, they have our favourite drinks, Lemon Lime and Bitters ($8) which really liven up our mood. Prior our appetizer, we were served Amuse-bouche of Ricotta Cheese Moose bruschetta. This single bit size appetizer really opens up our palate before the actual appetizer came. No wonder, Amuse-bouche is also known as mouth amuser. Next come the Oxtail Turmeric Soup ($14). Cooked with celery and coriander, the taste is slightly subtle, clean infused with the oxtail flavour. Maybe we are used to the Indonesian version, also known as Sup Buntut, which have strong presence of spices we find this version a little bland. For the steak, we have NZ Savannah Angus Ribeye 340g($58) and U.S. Creekstone Angus Eye of the Ribeye ($58). Both cuts suppose to be renowned for its tenderness, marbling and rich texture. Both cooked to medium rare. We both share half of each steak equally and our verdict, the NZ Savannah Angus Ribeye gets our vote. The NZ steak is more tender, juicy and succulent compare to its US counterpart. The consistency across the steak is just amazing, it almost melts in your mouth. Yummyyyy!!!! We were not sure what sauce to choose from, luckily Privé Grill is generous enough to let us try all the four sauces. Our vote goes to Privé signature steak sauce. We find that it is best sauce to accompanied the steak, according to our taste buds. For the sides, we had Duck Fat Fries ($12) served Truffle Mayonnaise and Grilled asparagus ($8) with Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The fries is thick but has a nice crispiness into it. Rich in flavour and goes well with truffle mayonnaise. It will be better if they coated the fries with truffle oil though. The asparagus is fresh, crunchy with smoky flavour from the grill. Trying something different for desserts, Basil Crepes with bananas ($12) got our pick. Served with honeycomb, caramel sauce and vanilla Bean Ice Cream. The dessert is very creative and well thought off, all ingredients combined well together and has a nice sweetness to it. Unfortunately we find the basil crepe is too thick and we are unable to taste any basil in the crepe. So we end up finishing the rest except for the crepes. The service here is excellent. The service staff is friendly and very accommodating. Worthy of a fine dining experience. Another plus point, after you settle your bill, they even send you home with a slice of fruit cake FOC for your snack at home.Overall, we are truly impressed with the overall dining experience in this restaurant. Beautiful atmosphere and service, without filling much pinch on your pocket. We really look forward for our next visit. By the time we got up and out, brunch became lunch. So when we got there, we were happy to see brunch items offered all day on the menu but decided we probably wanted something substantial.Mistake.How is this substantial?A small fillet of crusted salmon on a bed of mash with a few greens and a few fries. Hmm.Taste wise, it was good but left me wanting in a hungry tummy way.I wish we had taken the brunch option.Oh well. 繼續閱讀
