Punggol Nasi Padang

I finally tried the famous Punggol Nasi Lemak. The chilli is really spicier than normal but very fragrant. I had to eat the keropok at the side quickly as it was becoming soggy really fast. The rice wasn't fragrant enough for a nasi lemak, the coconut taste was really faint and almost non-existent. Not as great as I thought it would be, you can find better nasi lemak at hawker centres! But at least, it's air-conditioned here. There's milo dinosaur too - and I must say that it's well-done because it's very thick (the way I like it!) and sweet too. FoodI had my nasi brayani chicken which costs $6. Very fulling meal that comes with Ah Char, A big drumstick coated with thick curry gravy and a piece of cracker. Food is moderate. What I like is that they do provide soup which you can scoop for yourself near the drinks counter. Chilli and cucumber are added by customers at the payment counter.Nasi Lemak Set D costs $5. Fragrance nasi lemak rice. Nasi lemak with no egg, just vege and drumstick.This is the nasi pandang we have ordered, their rendang chicken looks interesting and just with white rice alone it costs us $5.30. ServiceService is absolutely slow. Quite a number of staff at the counter but their "system" went haywire. They have no stated duties of who is collecting the money and picking up the food for the customers. There are not many customers yet, their utensils are not replenished. From the picture you can see that we took a metal spoon then a plastic fork. Ha! AmbienceQuite quiet for a sunday afternoon. Located at the basement of the newly opened Jcube at Jurong East, the restaurant uses a canteen style ordering scheme. You need to queue up and order yuor food, pay at the cashier and bring it back to your table. To make ordering easy, they have pre labelled a few easy to order Nasi Lemak set. If you want to get a drink, you need to queue on another separate line and pay to the cashier on that line.I had the Nasi Briyani which I thought the portion was a bit little for the price I am paying.
