Have bought a whole pandan chiffon cake from this bakery shop for my tea time snack with my mother. For this whole cake is only at $3.00 which is consider reasonably priced.  This bakery shop is consider quite big in capacity but is abit squeezy and warm inside.  Counter cashier is quite friendly and fast in service. Q Bread bakery, located along the walkway from tampines mrt station to the bus interchange, makes a quick and convenient stop over to get some buns for breakfast the next day! My mom usually buys from them if she is in a rush to go home. Anyway, I've tried a few of their items like their kaya buns, coconut buns, sugar butter buns, cheese and blueberry tarts etc. I like their tarts as it is always densely filled. Pass by this cake shop and smell the fragrant of the waffles as the staff is in the mid of making it. Smell so good that I decided to buy a piece to try it out. As what I have smell, the waffle is really fragrant when I bite on it. Infact it is also quite crispy. THe texture is soft and quite firm, which is also not too dry. Even without any topping spread in it, it still taste great and quite filling after I have finished the whole piece of it. This pastry has a rich and nice buttery smell before putting into the fridge, but when I took it out from the fridge after a day, the smell disappeared, even if I took it close to my nose and smell, only a slight buttery smell can be smelt.The pastry itself is quite thick and became hard after a day of refrigerating.No buttery taste for the pastry despite its smell before putting into the fridge.The wintermelon filling is nice though, not too sweet.…Read More

Saw the sausage potato bun when going through their varieties. I found it to be quite an interesting combination so I bought it to try ;DIt costs $1.40.The cheese on top and presentation of it makes it look appetizing.The filling is quite a lot and I liked the taste of it.I could mostly taste only the potato, not much of the sausage though.Even though the sausage isn’t a lot, I liked how the filling in the bun is flavoured ;DIt is a little peppery and it is not too salty. I love Qbread as their bread are fresh and soft. It is especially good when it is just baked and out from the oven. I would recommend the blueberry cheese bread if one is going to try their bread. It is not too cheesy and it complements nicely with the blueberry. Moreover, there are almond flakes for us to chew on too. Also, the bread do not actually stick to their teeth. During the mooncakes season, I decided not to go to the hotels and waste money on non-traditional and highly overpriced mooncakes. So I went to the heartland bakeries and found yummy mooncakes!These ones were so well made, you can see the definition in the pastry. They are only the mini ones and it's good because you can try a lot of flavours with the mini ones! The filling is just sweet enough and there are low sugar options. The baked pastry is perfect and just thick enough. The fillings come in a wide variety from green tea to pandan to lotus to white lotus and egg yolk, chocolate, etc. i stuck with the more "traditional" flavours like lotus, white lotus, egg yolks, green tea and pandan.I love the green and golden colours of the fillings! While it's expensive at $2.80++ a piece depending on flavour, it's much cheaper than the hotels and it does taste better. None of those new-age durian, lychee, marshmallow, candy flavours.I love these mooncakes and once again, it can only be found in Singapore! Every year I wait eagerly for them to bring these out!Q bread did well with the mooncakes this time. Their Chinese New Year pineapple tarts were TERRIBLE. At Q Bread, they sells a wide range of breads as well as pastries, biscuits, cakes and tarts. Attached is one of their cute blueberry tarts, taste alright but a bit too sweet. But if you love to eat breads, I believe the range here would definitely attract your attention. All breads are quite big and with generous fillings at affordable price.
