Tori King MAZE SOBA (Dry Ramen)

Similar to the Bak Chor Mee (local version of minced pork noodle), there was minced meat, spicy sauce and vinegar. But there was also a nutty texture as there was chopped nuts in it too.
The noodle used here was similar to the thick flat yellow noodle used for Lor Mee.

The dipping sauce was rich and creamy with lots of dried fish flakes and chicken cubes in it. It's signature grilled chicken leg 🍗was quite tender but I felt the size of the leg seem to have reduced. I remembered that it used to be quite big.

Topup S$2++ for each bowl to up-size.

Topup S$5++ for special topping (flavoured egg, 2 pieces of thick bamboo shoot, 2 pieces of tender chicken chashu, 2 pieces of roasted chicken meat balls, Japanese seaweed) for each bowl.
With just 2 bowls of ramen, the small table for 2 persons could barely fit in everything.

My favourite topping was the chicken meatball which was juicy and crunchy with Yuzu skin for a hint of tangy taste. Similar to the chicken cha shu at Ramen Keisuke Lobster King (another outlet under Ramen Keisuke), there was alcoholic taste which mean that the cha shu could have marinated in sake.

Overall the ramen were much better than what I had during my last visit.

Only 20 servings servings per day.
It looked quite spicy for the normal version, but turned out quite salty and not that spicy.
Instead of the usual char siew, the ramen was served with grilled chicken thigh and green leafy vegetables.

Chicken broth ramen, served with grilled chicken thigh.
I ordered light version of soup base with light amount of chicken oil. It did not taste as salty as the Tan Tan Mien, and was just nice for me. There was chilli sauce at the table to dip the chicken with and tasted quite spicy. The chicken was quite tender and I was able to debone it easily with chopsticks.

I love ramen and Ramen Keisuke Tori King has always been on my list to try! Being a fan of green tea/matcha, I had to satisfy my curiousity of the green tea cola! Well, it turned out tasting like cola mixed with some other soda and there was no greentea taste at all! :/

What sets Tori King different from the other ramen restaurants is that they use chicken broth instead of pork, and I was so excited when our ramen finally came! As it was my first time, I had the Original Tori King Ramen Special with All Toppings, which comes with a slice of chashu, tamago, seaweed and the huge chicken thigh drumstick! The chicken drumstick is the main highlight and it is just toooo good! It is so tender that the meat comes off so easily from the bone! I can literally have another one now!

After my previous visit to Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King Four Seasons , I found myself craving for their ramen again. The Tori King Ramen with All Toppings is their signature ramen that comes with a chicken thigh, 2 half-boiled egg, a big piece of chashu and a big piece of seaweed. The chicken is tender, the egg tasted invigorating and the chashu was chewy. The greatest credit goes to the soup. It is flavourful, not too salty and accompanies well with the nice-cooked ramen (I didn't finish the soup as per what I did at Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King Four Seasons though).

The Black Spicy Tori King Ramen with All Toppings is the black pepper variant of the original ramen. It is nearly the same as the Tori King Ramen except with a little spice. If you do want your ramen to be slightly spicy, this should definitely be ordered.

Definitely will come back here again if I'm craving for ramen. If you are around the Tanjong Pagar area, this is one place to visit (the other being Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King, under the same company)

This Ramen place has been much raved about and yeah it surely lives up to one's expectations.Firstly, the chicken-based broth appealed to me as I do think it is a healthier choice than the usual pork broth (which tends to be saltier). And awww the chicken drumstick! I dislike pork as it usually comes with bits and pieces of fats around the meat but yeah I enjoyed my tender chicken drumstick with no hidden fats (well yeah unless you eat the skin as well) The tamago was nicely done, noodles textu

The tamago was nicely done, noodles texture was just right but actually one can choose the noodle texture when ordering, either being hard, normal or soft. Besides that, one can also select the amount of chicken oil preferred, so another thumbs up from a health-conscious person like me hehe

One can enjoy free flow hard-boiled eggs as well as cold marinated bean-sprouts. I love vegetables generally so it again appealed to me much that I can eat as much bean sprouts as I like haha. Furthermore, each table would have individual jar of bean sprouts so no need feel paiseh haha (unlike in Korean restaurants where one gotta ask for refill)

This is definitely a place I would return to for my Ramen fix (and bean-sprouts too haha)!! ^^ There are only three flavours available, original, green spicy or black spicy. So minus the headache of deciding from a long list of choices haha. I think original is the best but green spicy with a additional tad of wasabi taste is not bad too.

The wait was not long less than 30 minutes.I ordered the normal Tori Ramen.The dish came piping hot with a big chicken drumstick on top.The chicken drumstick was grilled on the skin and the meat inside tasted like boiled. Was back to Tori KIng for their awesome Ramen! During my last visit, i have ordered chicken broth ramen and this time round i have decided to give Green spicy ramen a try(wasabi flavor). There are free flow of bean sprouts, mayo, japan chilli sauce, sesame powder etc. There is also a kettle by the side as you can pour as and when you like. You will be given a bowl of sesame seeds for you to grind to pour it inside the ramen bowl if you like it. Of course it will taste nice with it! Give it a try!

Tori King uses chicken broth unlike the majority, many traditional ramen places use pork broth. In comparison to Marutama ramen which also uses chicken broth, the taste of Tori King’s broth is stronger and much more flavorful.

The stock is made from chicken bones, chicken feet, Japanese seaweed and an assortment of vegetables and boiled for eight hours. The original soup base comes with a piece of pork slice, giant seaweed, half boiled egg and the star of the show – the chicken drumstick!

The chicken drumstick is so tender that the meat comes off the bone so easily. A pair of chop sticks is all you need. No fork and knife involved.

What i like about Ramen Keisuke Tori King is they have free flow of complimentary eggs and beansprouts! yummy. They have a very simple menu. You only get to choose the soup base of the ramen with chicken drumstick (chicken broth, black spicy or green spicy aka wasabi). I added all toppings except seaweed and it cost SGD$13.90. I really love the soup of the ramen. The smell is very rich and thick. Chicken is tender and tasty. The noodles are very chewy too.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with the food here. May be back to try the green spicy ramen in future. However, the service was rather bad. As there are very limited seatings in this restaurant (which resulted in a long queue) one of the staff told us quite rudely to leave after we finish food.

One can choose from different levels of hardness of the noodle, strength of the soup etc. I chose the strongest taste for the soup, and the hardest possible noodle. In this bowl of chicken broth ramen with lava egg, there was a piece of char siew, a chicken leg and black fungus. Seaweed can be had as well, but I asked for it to be omitted). The grilled chicken leg was similar to any ordinary chicken. Char siew was too lean and tough for my liking. Chicken broth was flavorful, but I think I still prefer tonkotsu pork soup. Chicken ramen soup just seems really weird.

The winner of the Tokyo Ramen Championships 2011, Keisuke Takada opens his third ramen restaurant in Amara Shopping Mall. Having heard so much about it, I got a friend along to try this out together.

When we reach at early 6+pm, there was already a short queue but we didn't have to wait long. Upon entering the restaurant, it does remind me of Japan. Small cosy place, a bit cramped at the same time. Hee!

We already chose what we want while we were in the queue so once we were seated, they served us the ramen shortly. Both of us had the all toppings one. My friend chose Black Spicy Tori King Ramen Special while i opt for the green spicy version.

As i wasn't feeling too well that day so it was hard for me to fully enjoy the ramen. But based on how I feel that day, I felt the ramen was pretty tasty with nice broth. Only thing I don't like is the char siew. Too thick for my liking.

If you like free flow stuff, you be happy to know that the eggs, bean sprouts and sesame seed are all complimentary for you to take as much as you want.
