Essentially a place selling vegetarian food in a trendy cafe setting. They have both western and asian favourites which were prepared in a kitchen just away from the main seating area. Seriously paying attention on what their patrons eating, Real Food only produced healthy vegetarian food which were strictly free from processed ingredients and artificial preservatives. The chef spent an incredible amount of time and effort in preparing the good-quality of food, remarkable creation behind. Located conveniently at Novena MRT, it was easily found. Open-concept dining area, the space was not too big with the long rectangle table arranged neatly. It was a quick lunch, rather simple and fuss-free order. Choosing toppings based my own preference, there were about nine ingredients from the list. The pizza was lovingly made from scratch, drizzle of mozzarella cheese and tomato paste on surface. Unlike pan pizza, the layer was just a crunchy crisp. The no frills Real Food Cafe is tucked amongst a motley cluster of food kiosks at the basement of Novena Square Two which leads directly to/from the Novena MRT Station. Real Food Cafe has a small menu of Asian and Western food. Order and pay at the counter and your food will be served to you at your table. Seating is limited and the open concept means that passers by can inspect the stuff you are eating and you end up feeling like a fish feeding on your food in an aquarium tank. So this is a 'eat and be gone' type of place.I ordered the Aglio Olio Funghi Pasta $7.80 and since there is no free water, I had the almond oat milk $4.00 recommended by the girl manning the counter. The aroma of mushrooms wafted up when the plate of pasta was served. The portion was not big in size but was big on taste. The garden herbs, minced chilli and garlic made the simple pasta dish a crowd pleaser. However the almond oat milk was bland and runny, without the distinctive aroma of almonds and without any grainy oat residue detected.
