I went to buy the swiss rolls. The friendly auntie strongly recommended their chocolate eclair. I got a box of 3 pieces to try. The price is $2.60. I thought it would be nice but i do not think so after eating. It tasted just average. Nothing too special about it. I will just stick to their swiss rolls. My favourite is still the Kaya swiss roll. Rich & Good is famous for their swiss rolls, and they have a wide variety of flavours for you to choose from. I heard that the kaya flavoured one is popular, will try it next time. Got the mango swiss roll, and it comes as an elongated piece and you'll have to cut it into slices yourself. Portion of mango bits was generous, and you could taste the mango with every bite. The shop is nicely tucked away from the main road and it might requires a little effort to locate it the first time.This was my second visit.I have tried the Kaya roll and loved it so i thought i should others this time. I decided to go with the Coffee roll but it did not taste as good as expected. The sponge cake has got a slight coffee taste and tasted rather soft though the cream was quite a let down. My mother likes to eat the swiss roll cakes here, so whenever I pass by this shop, I wlll definitely buy some back home for her to eat. Her favourite one will the the chocolate swiss rolls and coffee swiss rolls. Both the cakes are equally soft and moist in texture. However, the staff is quite rude and proud when i asked them politely when will the durian swiss roll be ready. Rich & Good Cake Shop is located in Arab Street next to Kampong Glam Conservation Area. This place has gotten quite a lot of positive word of mouth (WOM). Despite its location; at least 15 minutes away from the nearest MRT station (Bugis), this place was packed when I went there twice during lunch time. Yes, they make it themselves and they sell it in a whole roll; uncut.Wide variety of Swiss rolls and the prices. Nothing fancy about their packaging. Looks simple and dull.I ordered a Kaya Swiss Roll and a Coffee Swiss Roll for $13.00. The packaging and swiss rolls look simple. But appearances can be deceiving. The swiss rolls were soft and spongy.The Kaya Swiss Roll which is their best seller. The kaya was tasty, rich and fragrant. This is really a must try. Totally fantastic. The owner say that to keep the cake in the fridge and finish it up by 3 days. Well, it was so delicious that we finish it up within 24 hours.The Coffee Swiss Roll was quite delicious too. With the recommendation from friends, I have decided to buy a box of the durian flavoured swiss roll from the shop. The swiss roll is well baked and rolled, has a soft and spongy texture with a light vanilla taste in it. As for the fillings, it is spread with the durian flesh and the fresh cream. The durian is fragrance, taste not too sweet nor bitter and goes well with the fresh cream and the swiss roll as well. Overall, quite a tasty swiss roll with real durian flesh in it and other flavours such as the chocolate, green tea, strawberry and many more flavours are made available. The mini swiss rolls here will never disappoint me as they have one of the better sponge cake in town. The sponge cake texture is very soft and slightly moist, so is really easy to munchy. It is sort of a bit too sweet which i hope to owner can soon adjust the sweetness of their cake. Other tan that, everything just taste great. It is my first time trying the swiss rolls. My hubby got them for me since he had a meeting near there and his colleague drove them there to get this. I think the famous ones will be the kaya pandan swiss roll, though I heard from my hubby that there are other flavours like durian too. Their swiss roll really unlike those other swiss rolls. This is really soft and airy in the sense when you eat it, it is very light. The sweetness from the cake isn't too much since the kaya is already sweetened and I must say the kaya is quite evenly spread throughout the roll too, which ensures each bite is of the same sweetness and consistency. This confectionary has been really popular for quite sometimes already. They are very famous for their wide ranges of swiss rolls, so without any hesitation I decided to try their swiss rolls too. The sponge cakes for both their chocolate and vanilla flavours are really soft and with abit of moist feels. The flavours are really fragrant and love the fresh cream that is in the mid of the cakes which is really smooth and nice. One disadvantage of their swiss rolls maybe is that they are abit too sweet. My boss went to Arab Street for lunch and bought swiss rolls from this cake shop for our tea time. She told us the classic swiss roll in the shop is the Kaya version, and true enough it was divine!The swiss roll texture was very soft and fluffy. Almost like could melt-in-your-mouth type. The kaya flavour was also adequately spread throughout the roll, and not too sweet. I chance upon to have a taste on their swiss roll as my boss brought it for us to try. She bought 4 flavours which are Durian, Strawberry and Kaya. The swiss roll are real good. Good because of three things. The sponge cake is super soft and it actually will melt in your mouth. It has been a long time since i have tasted such texture of a cake. The spread (durian, strawberry or kaya) is just nice - not too thin nor too thick. There are a few times whenever I eat swiss rolls, the ends of the sponge cake tend to have less spread.
