Both me and my hubby is a big fan of the kaya pandan swiss roll from this store! They sell other flavours too i.e durian, coffee, blueberry etc...however i like kaya pandan the best! Their swiss roll is different from others : long and thin. This pillowy soft, smooth , moist and dense swiss roll gives me the addiction of wanting to eat more as the sweetness is just nice and very fresh! They use to sell it at S$6.50 per roll but due to inflation i guess the price is now @S$7.00 per roll! However it's still worth it for such fantastic swiss roll.Personally, i think the swiss roll is best to be consumed within 2 days. The store is a bit out of the way, so you have to go into few streets before you can find it @ Kandahar street.Nearest MRT station to reach this store i think would be Nicoll Highway station. I got to know this cake shop from my supplier. One day, my supplier bought for me to try and i love it after eaten. I decided to go and explore and see what other flavors the shop sell. One afternoon, i decided to go to the shop, and noticed this place was nearby a Mosque. The shop only sell swiss rolls only. Setting - in a little street in Bugis that's a bit tricky to get to by walking... situated next to quaint and amusing shophouses... nice area...Service - bad. Woman from the back yelled at me to ask me what I wanted. Gee... I was just there to buy some Swiss rolls - why else am I there?Value - expensive! But I guess it's the quality... the rolls are thinner in diameter than conventional rolls, but longer in length... and they are so soft yet dense!Food - well... It's fan-friggin-tastic! The chiffon/sponge/cake bit is sooooo super soft yet dense! Softest dense swiss rolls ever! Just amazing. And it doesn't crumble or disintegrate when you cut it. We tried the strawberry flavour and the mango flavour.The Mango was great! Some chunky mangoes in the middle, just enough cream. Very well-balanced. Perfect! Not too sweet and you don't feel sick from eating it! No artificial taste left in your mouth. Real mango taste made with real mango puree.The Strawberry was not too great. No real strawberries. Just some jam and cream. Well-balanced but no real strawberry flavour at all. Just a nice pink colour. Not too sweet. Rather bland. Really need to add some strawberries and up the strawberry flavour! Swiss roll is always my favourite and my wife's favourite as well. One day my wife share with me that her friend recommend her to go Arab Street to buy Swiss Roll. First thing came to my mind is Arab Street selling alot of Arab Stuff right. She insist she like to explore to find out what the swiss roll taste like. She called her friend up to find out the name and the address of the shop. After finding the details, she asked me to drove her there and purchase he swiss roll. This shop sells a variety of swiss roll. Personally, I like their green tea,orange, kaya and mango flavour. The one that is reflected in the photo is Kaya flavour. The shop is not stingy on their fillings, so when you bite the swiss roll you will be able to taste the chunks of mango . The swiss roll is very soft and is best comsume when it is cold. But the parking for this place is really a headache, so I would advise you to call and order. The shop keeper will bring out to the road side.
