First thing you should know about dining at rider's cafe - remember to call ahead for reservations just in case. Sometimes you might get lucky and get a seat fast even though you didn't call ahead to book, but don't take the chance because if you have to queue outside, its gonna be quite awhile. Everyone inside is there for a leisurely meal so nobody's gonna vacate their seat so soon.In addition, as Riders cafe is located at bukit timah saddle club, it may be difficult to find as well. i went to riders café with my girlfriend for some light tea and to chill out we both love the environment here, so calm and serene. As we both we not feeling hungry, we ordered some scones to munch as we relax. The scones were very delicious, light and fluffy. Goes really well with their jam. i've been hankering to pop by for the longest time thanks to the numerous ravings on food blogs but was deterred by our lack of transport. i don't like to plan ahead either, and Riders Cafe only take reservations 2 days in advance.i'm not sure why either, but so many places aren't open on Sundays and i had a major craving for brunch on this particular Sunday. thank god for Riders Cafe and for boyfriends with cars although we didn't make any reservation and was SO hungry by 2PM and was running a risk of missing brunch completely(ends at 3PM), we decided to try our luck. as it turns out, luck was on our side and the wait didn't take more than 5 minutes. imagine my utter dismay though, when i couldn't find pancakes on the menu! i love pancakes and their pancakes is one of the main reasons i'm here. we were told pancakes are only served during brunch on weekdays. well at least it hasn't been taken off the menu completely...Riders Cafe definitely did not disappoint though! the place had this certain quietness, even with the place almost filled up with patrons and the many wait staff milling around(there's at least 10 or more...). the mood was really slow and calming, like you could just sit there with your companions whiling away your day off and not feel the city's stress. we really liked the food too. i went for the brioche french toast with burnt bananas and bacon while the very hungry boyfriend went for one of the lunch main options of almond fried chicken thingy lying on a bed of... cheesy mashy stuff.this wasn't so great. it just tasted like milo. plus points for attempting to decorate the sides of the glass with chocolate syrup though! although the french toast couldn't match up to those my grandmother used to make(who could!?), which was soft, eggy, but with crispy sides, Riders Cafe's version did well too. it was soft and chewy and went well with the maple syrup. the bacon was also how i liked mine cooked, just slightly crispy and not too burnt. the caramelized bananas were a tad too sweet though. boyfriend liked his dish very much, however it came in such a huge portion that even he couldn't finish it all off. it was a pity we didn't manage to try their very raved about poached eggs and pancakes, but we are definitely coming back for more, on a weekday this time! :) …查看更多

Brunch at Riders Cafe is always good. I enjoy the ambience of dining with the full view of greens. I ordered the breakfast which comes with sausage, egg, bread and bacon. First time to Riders Cafe. I tried their smoked bacon and roasted tomatoes with poached eggs together with hollandaise sauce served on sourdough bread. It was good! Love their bacon! A reservation is most definitely required, as we went without one and had to wait for almost an hour. Ordered the french toast with strawberry bacons and burnt bananas. I was having my doubts about the burnt bananas cause it just do not sound nice. But surprisingly, that is what i loved most in the end. It is more of caramelized banana, cause they taste sweeter than usual. The french toast was thick and soft, which matches perfectly well with the bacon. I've heard so much about this place that i know i have to try it!It was a dinner meetup with friends and I didnt know that the cafe is situated quite far from the main road. Me and girl-friend took a cab inside and the small road that leads from main road to the cafe was dark (no lights)! My choice place for brunch. Although it's a bit difficult to get to - as the only way to get there is via car - the ambience and the food makes up for it.Brunch plates are reasonably priced from 9SGD for Yogurt with toppings to maybe 15 SGD for Rider's breakfast. The servings are generous (at least based on my capacity to eat which I hear is less than normal). The eggs benedict is simply divine! For an added twist, try the smoked salmon version. The Rider's breakfast is just your basic eggs, toast, bacon or ham set with beans. You can't do much to ruin this simple breakfast anyway.The ambience is good as you are surrounded by greeneries mainly for horseback riding. On the weekends, you can see horses walking around the area as well. Better to make reservation as they can get quite packed during this time.in addition to what the other reviewers had mentioned, I would like to recomend the eggs benedict. This dish is not special because of the poach egg but rather the bun which is lightly pan fried which makes it better than toasted. I simply love the ambiance of riders café, so quiet and relaxing, a getaway from the busy life. The food is really good as well, the french toast with burnt bananas, fresh strawberries, butter and fried bacon is totally satisfying. I blend of sweet and savory!The Toast with rocket, scrambled eggs, sauteed mushrooms, tomato and bacon is another must order. The bacon is very crispy, not too salty as well. Yummy! Last but not least, Banana caramel toffee pie, my most recommended dish! I ordered Brioche French toast – thick egg toast with toasted honey coated on the bananas and slices of bacon. Had iced latte for drinks which tasted great with the right amount of coffee and milk. It was a very fulfilling and full meal. It was raining that morning and probably the reason we didn’t see any horses around. We were hoping to see some horse strolling around while we had brunch. Order for brunch is till 2pm, we were there early at 11am plus. Service staff was very helpful and friendly in attending to our requests, ensuring we were satisfied with the dining experience. Reservation is a must for this lovely Riders Cafe, otherwise it will mean disappointment. It is absolutely my favourite breakfast venue on a lazy Sunday morning, a break from the city in this low-key charming building with the greenery nature.
