Early breakfast at Tanglin Halt Ru Yi Yuan Vegetarian. You have to get there before they close at 11.30am.Normally I ordered an extra portion of Vegetarian duck. It is made of layers of bean curd skin and deep fried. It is crispy on the outside but soft, smooth and tender on the side. One bite and you can taste the fragrance flavour of bean curd skin. I always went with the big portion order of their vegetarian mee hoon which cost S$3.00 where their normal ones cost S$2.50. The noodles were covered with plentifully "meat" and french beans. Do take note of their vegetarian chicken it is so smooth that it actually melt in your mouth! The sauce and the noodle were also irresistible. Once you put into the mouth, you can never miss the taste of "wok hei".

I saw on Channel 8 that this famous vegetarian stall at Tanglin Halt had very long queue, so I decided to go to have a try.I arrived in the morning and sure it was long queue, though the queue cleared quite fast, within thirty minutes, it was my turn to order.I ordered Bee Hoon. At $2.50, it was quite cheap.The bee hoon had "Wok" taste, though it looked white. The mocked meat also taste good with no over used oil taste.Their special gravy on the bee hoon was surprising refreshing for an early breakfast. It was light and not oily, with slight sweetness and saltyness.

This is one of the best vegetarian mee hoon I ever had. It is very different from the usual one where they have some ingredient that with red coloring that is the mock char siew. The taste overall here is with breath of work (wok hei) and the ingredients are fresh and the fried items are crispy and not oily. I have been eating from this stall for years and their standard still remain. Usually there will be a queue so be prepared to be in the queue for around 10 to 15 mins.
