Pasta has always been my favourite choice of a light and healthy meal, low calories in fact. Visit Saizeriya for my lunch, it offered delicious Italian cum Western food at very affordable price. Quite crowded by the time we arrived, luckily the turnover was quite fast thus we no need to wait much. Upon settled down, we were given Menu. Once decided the food to order, we caught staffs attention by pressing the number button on table and waitress approached almost immediately. Service was prompt, our food arrived within 15 minutes. Delicious looking Pasta, it was stir-fried up with olive oil and generous amount of minced garlic. Noodle was springy chewable, saltiness of Bacon perfectly twisted within. No GST and no extra charges, my pasta was reasonably priced at $4.90 only. We also get the free-flow drink bar at $2.80 nett per person, assorted hot or cold drinks ahead for us. Cant remember if it is seafood chowder or clam chowder soup. Soup base taste sweet and but a pity that it is too watery. There is really quite abit of clam meat and vegetable bits in the soup. A dish that children will love.Chicken is a little tougher and drier done by this branch and taste more blend. Not as tender and savoury as the one done by The Cathay outlet.Lettuce in the salad shd be cut into smaller pieces for consumptions instead of the actual slices size. Sauce is too watery and cannot really coat the vegetables well.Pork Slices is too blend and again, too dry. Portion does not really feed a big eater well.This outlet obviously has not enough man power to cater for the peak hour such as lunch or dinner crowd. Situated at a corner opposite the 7eleven, the queue for a table eventually leads to blocking the way of the rest of the people visiting the mall when there is not enough help in clearing the tables fast and allowing people to go in. Even when you eventually gets a table, it takes really quite awhile before the servers have time to cater to your need to make an order.Basically, if you are really thinking of visiting this outlet, I suggest that you pop by before or after peak hour. I ordered the Pepperoncino bacon spaghetti ($4.9). Just a warning: this dish is not suitable for people who dislike garlic. With a similar frying style to aglio olio, you can also see this dish as “bacon aglio olio”. Saizeriya offers the cheapest spaghetti and Italian food in Singapore. This dish was fried with garlic, chilli and bacon. Although it's a little oily to me, but the spiciness of it is just right for people who don't have high tolerance of spicy food. Hougang 1 is a new mall, nice place for me to go shop and walk around while running some errands in the area. The restaurant wasn't too crowded due to us eating at a weird time before lunch hours. we ordered seafood carbonara, chicken wings, grilled chicken set.
