Our appetizer was Caprese ($11.9). This is the classical food presentation of this dish - slices of tomatoes and fresh mozarella cheese arranged in alternating fashion, sprinkled with chopped basil. This healthy stew of mixed vegetables and parma ham is called ribollita toscana ($11.90). Despite its look, it was actually quite tasty, but filling too.Call me cheesy, the gorgonzola sauce on the gnocchi algorgonzola ($10.9) just wasn't up to my 'cheesy' expectation. This is when the parmesan cheese came to the rescue. When our filetto alla tartufato ($25.9) arrived, we finally realised our mistake - both main dishes were in cream sauce! Don't get me wrong, the sauce was nice, the truffle was not overpowering and the herbs used were ample. But, the cream certainly isn't easy on the stomach. We were full but still couldn't resist the temptation to order a dessert. They ran out of their signature Tiramisu Si and the waiter recommended this cake of the day ($5). It was a tad dry and hard, and filling too. This cake was the only food that we had leftover on the table.Virgin Strawberry Daiquiri ($7.5), a sweet and sour mix blended. It was refreshing and just the right drink to accompany our creamy main dishes.Cheers, where else can you find a $3.9 per glass red wine? 繼續閱讀

Went to Sapore Italiano at NUS U-town with my friend and we had pasta, pizza and some drinks. I feel that the food borders on average and they were quite expensive. The pasta sauce wasn’t as creamy as I wanted it to be. It tasted a bit bland to go with the already bland pasta. However the serving is quite a lot and so I had trouble finishing mine because it wasn’t very delicious and the pasta were a little tough to bite. (I wished they had cooked them a little bit longer) The pizza also tastes like something you can bake at home because there is nothing special about it. 繼續閱讀

It is at NUS U Town. Took a shuttle bus D2 in NUS campus, very convenience. They have lunch sets at affordable price of $6.90 or $7.90 (if I remember correctly) which you can choose between pasta or pizza. The only difference between the price is their drinks. $6.90 set is canned drinks and likewise for $7.90 set, you can choose juices and etc. I took $6.90 set of course. Budget! Had their carbonara pasta + Coke Light. I love it. Before that, I usually had my all time favourite Aglio olio. And I don't really like creamy pasta until recently at Blisshouse (The Central), we had Mushroom Alfredo and very impressed especially my guy because he too hates creamy stuff or basically he don't enjoy pasta. What a waste! So for a change, I had carbonara! The creamy level is just right, not too overly and just a little saltiness from bacon makes it perfect. But have it while it's hot piping. When it turns cold, it will taste a little yucky. I have not tried their pizza but I saw most of the tables with pizza orders. Might be a good try. 繼續閱讀
