Was attracted by the bright and trendy decoration of this ice cream shop and decided to give it a try. Have bought the basic strawberry and chocolate ice cream in a cup. The strawberry taste abit too sweet but the chocolate flavour is quite fragrant and filled with lots of thick dark chocolate taste in it. Both ice creams are equally creamy and thick in texture. For $2.90 each scoop, my friends and I decided to try it as a after meal dessert and chose the flavours of green tea, cookies and cream and chocolate mint. I liked the green tea flavoured the best as it is not too sweet and has a rich fragrant taste of well brewed green tea. For those who likes green tea, you would love this green tea ice cream. As for the chocolate mint, I didn't enjoy it as much as it was slightly blend and the taste of mint was not too strong. The chocolate chips are those you find in cream cakes so the chocolate taste was slightly lacking. I just love their black sesame ice cream a lot! Very very nice! Although it tastes a little like those black sesame paste you can find at supermarkets, the texture is what stands out. Scoopz - A place which sells delicious handmade ice-cream at reasonable price. No wonder I always see people queueing to get ice-cream from this stall. Being a Horlicks lover, one of the flavours which I have chosen is Horlicks. Indeed, scoopz didn't disappoint me. The Horlicks flavour ice-cream tastes really good. Scoopz! Their flavours are very unique. Flavours like jackfruit, avacado, durian etc are not easily found outside, but you can definitely find them in scoopz! I love their avocado flavour! With so many new ice cream/gelato parlors popping up in Singapore, it’s been eons since I last ate Scoopz’s ice cream. This small takeaway shop has been around for the longest time ever, maybe about 10 years or so? Though Parkway Parade was my regular hangout place when I was in sec school and JC, I’ve never tried it cuz I wasn’t into ice cream back then, only fast-junk-food haha, and McDonald’s 50 cents ice cream cone was good enough.I finally had a taste of Scoopz’s ice cream a couple of years ago and it has become a must for me to have (more than) a scoopz everytime I swing by the mall =) That’s how good it is!Local flavours are their “thing” so there’s nothing fancy here, just common favourites like chocolate (duh) and vanilla. Tropical fruit flavours are also their specialty, especially durian. All the ice cream it is hand made on freezing pans and the “massaging” results in a texture that’s dense and smooth.After such a long hiatus, I went for 5 (instead of my usual 3) scoops: Avocado, black sesame, jackfruit, strawberry, rum and raisin. Ahh, sugar heaven~What I like best about the ice cream here is that all the flavours are very intense and strong, plus not overly sweet. If that’s not tempting enough, servings are incredibly generous! And $6.90 for these 5 big scoops? Done deal!
