After walking one round at The Grandstand we decided for unit #01-08 while viewing from the directory and headed towards Scrumptious at the Turf.EnvironmentEnvironment was rather pleasant and not too much of people as it was after the official dinner hours. Looking at the nicely decorated blackboard at Scrumptious, All-Day Breakfast was being served.Since we were rather late for dinner, we quickly made our orders with 2 mains and 1 side. It was not too soon when the service guy approached us that all chicken mains were sold out and he apologized for it mentioning it was a long day. He suggested that we could take the Pan Seared Dory as an alternative and I agreed. We waited for about half hour then our appetizer were served. The Spam Fries were nothing interesting, dull thick cut meats deep fried and place on a plain white plate. Texture was not too bad with some crisp on its external however, it would be perfect if they were harder in bite and not too big in size.Observing the on goings throughout the wait, with one of the tables complaining their buffalo wings were not cooked, and we started to notice that something was very amiss and was pondering how much longer do we need to wait. Unfortunately, the wait wasn't for us. To make things worst, one of us had to rush back immediately due to work commitment. We tried calling off the bill and initially we were rejected but shortly the In-Charge came over and agree upon as we emphasized we had really something urgent to attend to.He repeatedly apologize for causing the blunders and even offered our fries free but in the end we left paying. It's all about team work when it comes to operating the Cafe. Luckily the kitchen is kind of opened concept with the glass panels and we were able to view the happenings. There were only 4 staff on service during our time of visit about 9pm which I would say over the peak hours. Keeping in mind that the crowd wasn't too many, the speed of serving was indeed very slow. The body languages from the 2 chefs in the kitchen had shown the reluctance in their job even though the so called Team Lead had emphasized the upcoming orders countless time that even offered to prepare some of the ingredients from them. It's all about getting serious on the job and it showed how much efforts the chefs had put in by their unpleasant and ignorant attitude. From what we observed, the team lead was caught in the middle and no matter how many times the team lead tried hard to recover its service, apologizing to customers just doesn't help after all. With so many bad reviews around, it would be at best the management could do something to clear its name.Sigh what a night! 繼續閱讀

Located at The Grandstand, Scrumptious At The Turf is a place where you can indulge in hearty Western comfort food. The interior decor of Scrumptious At The Turf is simple and minimal which allows diners to feel cosy and relaxed. It is extremely homely thus making it a great place for gatherings or just to relax on a lazy afternoon. This breakfast platter was one of my favourites, which featured quite fluffy and moist scrambled eggs with the usual works (bacon, sauteed mushrooms, baked beans, toast). The Scrumpty Egg is served with two sunny side-up eggs on a bed of egg, bacon and prawn.Pretty decent truffle fries. Not all fries infused with truffle oil though fries were big and crispy. Would prefer the fries to be soaked more in truffle!Pan Seared Dory drizzled with cherry tomato vinaigrette and finished of with a green pea puree served with baby tomatoes.Seafood Aglio Olio ($16) - Big and juicy prawns and mussels were sitting on top of the pasta, just a simple dish which was tasted not too bad.Luscious and rich, this cake is a real treat for all chocolate lovers. I strongly recommend this sinful dessert which was totally worth the calories! Try pairing it with their wide selection of teas or coffee, it will make a dessert-licious end to a sumptuous meal.Their square waffles come in a stack of two, topped with two generous scoops of ice-cream and served with maple syrup.Scrumptious At The Turf promises a "Swawesomastic" (sweet, awesome and fantastic) dining experience but sadly we did not enjoy ourselves. I do not think I will visit it again. 繼續閱讀

It looks like another western food restaurant from outside. But steps into the place, I am welcomed into a place with red colored bench with pillows around. The place has a homey feel. Outside there is also an opened air dine in area with bright color armchairs around. Looks so cozy to be around. But the most interesting about this place is its Scrumptious Kiddy Corner. It is a non-supervised play area. There is toys and story books in the shelves. Bean bags to sit on. Blackboards for the young ones to express themselves. Lastly there is a flat screen television which is playing the kids' favourite movie Frozen. Not wonder the children are having fun in this small area.Fish & Chips ($12+)Traditional deep fried beer battered fish with chips and garden leavesThe serving looks a bit sad when served. Maybe it is because the staffs are too overworked. The fish tastes not bad and not oily.Cajun Chicken ($15+)Seasoned with Scrumptious blend of spices served with garden leaves and herb mash on the side. The chicken is quite tender and cut easily. It tastes quite flavourful.Eggs Benedict ($10+)Poached eggs laid on toast bread served with avocado sauce and bacon. It is rare to find a egg benedict dish at this price. Although the bread looks like the supermarket type, the egg is cooked just right. The egg yolk flows out easily and smoothly when being cut opened.Overall the food is not bad. The prices of the dishes are quite reasonable. The place is quite packed during dinner time. One may needs to wait quite awhile to get the attention of the staffs (only 2 in the dining area). Anyway it is difficult to find a kid friendly eatery in Singapore. Glad that this is not an expensive choice. 繼續閱讀
