Shin Kushiya, the Japanese Restaurant specializes in charcoal-grilled skewers. They are proud of their signature Kushiyaki skewers - where the freshest meat, seafood and vegetables are arranged on bamboo skewers and grilled over Bincho charcoal from Japan to provide a crisp smokiness while sealing the flavours within. 繼續閱讀

I only tried the dessert. Mango parfait with imported yuzu ice cream. The price is above average. Yuzu ice cream is indeed something new to me, but the taste is not as surprising as the name it seem to be. It is served with pop pop jelly and mango jelly. Mango jelly is as expected, artificially mango flavored jelly. The service is Good though. Staffs are friendly. 繼續閱讀

Pleased to know there were many Japanese restaurants at JEM, we headed to one of them. Famous of charcoal-grilled skewers, Shin Kushiya also had the most typical Japanese cuisine such as Udon, Sushi and Sashimi. Service attendants were accommodating and well-trained, the ambience was decent too.Brought along my youngest cousin, I ordered a Kiddy set for her. Lovely Panda Bento, she smiled and happily received it. Children easily contented, how good if I were her. Inside the box, there was fruits and sushi. Adorable and deliciously appearance, it made me felt like eating hers. Udon noodle portion was relatively small, especially for kids. I was so impressed the thoughtful and flexible idea from Shin Kushiya, now even children also look forward to dine in there. 繼續閱讀

I had an oyakodon set and it was the simply the best I had. My only gripe is I cannot finish the bowl! It has a large portion of nicely-done soft rice with large chunks of chickens. Deceptively, it looks manageable in the beginning but when you coupled the bowl of rice with side dishes of kelp, lettuce, sliced fruits and a warm soup with mushrooms, it becomes a 'struggle'.My lady had naturally, the ladies executive set: sashimi, sushi, sticks of meatballs & bacon-wrapped tomatoes, chawanmushi, vegetable sides. The service staff is very attentive and will gladly refill your half-filled glasses of water. Not just any water, but charcoal-filtered water. 繼續閱讀

It was my first time at Jem and i decided to try smth that i never had before. So we came to Shin Kushiya for some japanese food. From the menu, the food looks good!Gyu and vegetable platter (SGD$18.40++)This dish consists of beef skewers, gyu karubi, gyu aspara maki, gyu tomato maki, gyu enoki maki and shiitake mushroom. Surprisingly, the mushroom taste the best. The beef was too hard and difficult to chew on. Others were very average. nothing to be fantastic about. Overall, this dish isn't worth the moneyFlamed Salmon Sashimi Maki (SGD $15.60++) there are 2 types of toppings for this dish - Ikura / spicy mayonnaise and bonito flakes / mayonnaise. Personally i prefer the spicy mayonnaise but both taste good! only this dish that we ordered is valued for money.Chicken Katsu Curry Don (SGD$15.80++) was a major disappointment and it is even a chef recommendation. The chicken is hard, and the Japanese curry is one of the most tasteless curry that i have ever had. for this dish i will give a 1/5 star rating. The total bill came up to be around $60 and we conclude that the quality of the food is not value for money. 繼續閱讀

VEGE LOVE NOM NOM NOM! This is the Sansei Soba ($12.80), translated to Buckwheat Noodles with Mountain Vegetables. I'm not too sure what the mountain vegetables' names are but I could identify the spinach and spring onions! There was another vegetable, it was a little.. sour? I didn't return know what's that. But if you drink the soup and eat the vege together, it tastes pretty good! I also love the pretty Japanese fishcake, might be some "beautiful is good" effect but i LOve the fishcake! The buckwheat noodle is really soft and can be bitten off very easily. If you love vegetables, I think you'll definitely like this dish! 繼續閱讀
