Had a quick lunch on last Friday before i headed back JB for my dental appointment. My colleague suggested this cafe which none of us tried before. Shloop Art Cafe that located at level 1 of Trinity Christian Centre. Trinity is located within walking distance from Tai Seng MRT station (circle line) and at the junction of Upper Paya Lebar Road & Tai Seng Link. It was a cosy nice cafe that links with the bookstore next to it. The bookstore that sells christian books and also stationery and other related stuffs. You can always walk over as it is link together to browse on the stuffs while waiting for the foods to be served. Interesting concepts and basically it's a nice, relaxing and quiet place for dinning. The cafe was decorated in the white and light blue theme which gives the whole cafe looks clean and classy. We loved the decoration and the interior design of the cafe. There is only two staffs working on that noon but it does not slow down the serving time. They served the foods within 20 minutes time and it fits the bill. They provide lunch set meal which is under 10 dollar cost and it comes with complimentary tea/ coffee and soup of the day. So it is affordable price and decent food portions and taste. The soup of the day. It was served hot. However it is a bit salty for me. Nevertheless the taste is still acceptable.I ordered Pasta Carbonara @ S$8.80. The serving portion was just nice per pax. We have 2 options to choose- spaghetti or linguine.I choose linguine and it smoothen with carbonara sauce, tossed with bacon, olive oil and garlic. I love to have them together with the bacon. Price is affordable and the taste wise is surprisingly fine. Pizza of the choice:- Pizza Prosciutto Funghi which is a popular choice stated in the menu. It’s the combination of mushroom and ham taste. It comes with 8″ @ S$7.90 & 12″ @S$14.80. However, the staff commented that they only have 10″ that day which the price is not stated in the menu. We ordered 10″ size for 3 persons to share. It was just nice as we have our main course individually. The thin crusted pizza skin goes well with the mushroom and ham. It makes our appertize grow bigger as the thin crusted is just nice and doesn’t feel overdose. My colleague ordered Pasta Pollo e Funghi @ S$8.80 per serving. She prefered spaghetti sauteed with roasted chicken and mushrooms tossed with garlic, spicy tomato and herb sauce. My colleague was pleased with the serving and the taste as well. The tomato blends well with the herbs and make the dish smells great.Overall it is a pleasant dinning place. The cafe also have outdoor dinning area for customers to enjoy. The indoor interior style of cafe makes the place looks so comfortable to dine in and would love to stay in longer.
