Referring to iron-plate cooking, Sho Teppan is a brand new dining concept that surfaced in 2009. It is the first to offer both Teppanyaki and Sukiyaki under one roof. It prides itself on the "Chef-less" concept, with no live kitchen and allowing customers to enjoy the thrill of cooking the meal themselves. Wagyu Beef, Premium Black Angus, Kurobuta Pork Loin are just some of the few special items that diners will get to savor. 繼續閱讀

Sho Teppan offers a quick, casual and fuss-free Japanese dining concept, with both sukiyaki and teppanyaki options available. Sho Teppan's novelty lies in the idea of DIY cooking, in which patrons get to sizzle their choice of meats themselves on a hot iron plate.I had an Ichiban Rump, and it was flavourful and delightful to the mouth. Despite my ineptitude with the iron plate, the beef remained moist and tender. Together with the accompanying rice, salad and condiments, it was a quick and satisfying bite, nicely set in a comfortable and homely atmosphere.  繼續閱讀

The third stop on the trail is the Sho Teppan, which is one of the restaurants under the Creative Eateries chain. The casual restaurant offers individual serving of dish where one can enjoy DIY cooking. It is interesting to find many photos of customers on the walls.Chicken Yaki Udon ($10.90++)Everything is served in a metal pot for one to do DIY cooking. I like the chicken which tastes smooth and flavourful down the throat. But the udon which soaks up too much of the sauce is a bit too salty for me.Beef Tenderloin Teppanyaki ($17.90++)The beef is very tender.Cool the cooked meat by dipping into the raw egg, which adds a smooth texture into the meat.Seafood Shabu Shabu ($17.90++)The seafood tastes fresh, but cannot say the same for the vegetables especially for the cabbage which has a number of black dots on.UnagiThe eel is very soft and flavourful. We wash down the meal with Homemade Iced Green Tea.Overall it is quite an interesting meal for all of us and everyone has great fun in cooking the dishes. 繼續閱讀

I was craving for Japanese food and decided to try this restaurant! They offer Teppanyaki, Shabu Shabu/Sukiyaki, Yakimeshi and Yaki Udon. Since this restaurant is better known for their D.I.Y Teppanyaki, I went for that and chose Salmon Steak. I added the meat and other ingredients into my personal pot, which is a specially designed iron plate to keep the meat sizzling hot! The end result is juicy and tender pan-fried meat There are 4 different types of homemade sauce and I chose the Teriyaki sauce. The others include Teppanyaki, Black Pepper and Miso sauce. I felt like a chef and the staff also helped out by ensuring that it's done right. I like the concept, decor and food here and it's worth going back again! 繼續閱讀

Sukiyaki (Seafood)! $15.90 ++. Strongly NOT recommended...because it is is SO salty..the taste of the soya sauce is SO overwhelming! I asked to add warm water in it..but it is still VERY salty! hmmm... Shabu Shabu soup base is much nicer than Sukiyaki! Will only order shabu shabu next time and replace the peanut sauce, to egg... The seafood tastes very fresh! But I prefer if they could give me bigger prawn(with shell on)..cos it would taste better.. Salmon is soft and sweet ! 繼續閱讀

Located at Raffles City Shopping mall basement one where there are an array of eateries, Sho Teppan is conveniently located near the city hall MRT station. During the F1 week, together with 2 other friends, we went there for dinner. We have ordered 1 Seafood shabu shabu ($17.90), 1 wagyu beef sukiyaki ($22.50) and 1 pork shabu shabu($15.90). In total, we spent $66.75 including GST and service charge. Personally I felt that the service here wasn't too good and perhaps that's also due to lack of staff as there were only 2 staff working during the peak dinner time.Sho Teppan has an option of letting the staff cook for you or you cook on your own when the food arrived. The seafood served was fresh but the soup was rather bland even after cooking all the seafood. The wagyu beef was very thinly sliced and was tender even after fully cooked. The pork was thinly sliced as well. Overall it was a very average dinner as the soup was bland and the meat was not seasoned. I would choose buffet steamboat over this any time for the price I am paying. 繼續閱讀
