This was my second visit to siam kitchen. This time round, I have decided to try out other dishes. I ordered tomyum soup, 2 servings of rice and sambal stingray (which is actually a chef recommendation) and share it with my friend. The tomyum soup was nice, it is both sour and spicy enough to my liking. However, the fish has this “fishy” taste that we couldn’t take itThe sambal stingray, was rather disappointing as it wasn’t even spicy to me. It cost ard sgd $15 and I find it not very worthwhile

 Dried stir-fried glass noodles was their signature, the amazing twist was my favourite dish. Chilli flakes and Peanuts to be mixed up together, I also pinched along the Lime. But, it would be better if the portion was bigger, really too little to eat. Price at $10.90, seriously, I don’t mind pay additional for the larger version.

Red orangey in colour, it was a must-order dish whenever came to Siam Kitchen. With slices of fresh Fish, Prawns, Squids and Chicken added into Herbs & Spices Soup, the taste was quite similar to the typical Thailand one. Sour and spiciness stroke a perfect balance, very appetizing broth. Within affordable range, it was only $7.90. Basically, the restaurant looked spacious and comfy. With their food-quality was up to standard, the business will move forward gradually. Keep it up.

Got a chance to have food tasting in this restaurant and I must say I love it a lot. The food and services are good and I do hope to visit them again.

 2nd dish will be Grill herbs spring chicken - $14.90, grilled chicken always tasted so good and so does this. Although is grilled, they didn't overcooked it and the chicken is still so yummy and soft (the chicken meat).

Went for a light lunch with my friends and I had to watch them eat as I wasn't that hungry. Snapped some pictures of the food that I was interested in and had a little taste of though! These were the 2 dishes that I had a quick taste of: 1.  1. Stir Fried Long Beans with Thai Shrimp Paste ($7.50)
My friends always call me the rabbit of the group as I can't resist eating their vegetables and I'm also given whatever kinds of vegetables they don't like! HAHA! I like that although the paste looks menacing, it was actually not that spicy and I could still take it. Although after awhile, I had to reach for my glass of water to quench the fire slowly burning up. The long beans was also crunchy and nice!

 2. Moon Prawn Cakes ($8.50). This dish was either new/chef recommended thus my friends picked it. I think it's not too bad. The filling taste a little bit like fish cakes with prawns in it and was crispy on the other as it was fried. I also especially like the sweet and spicy sauce provided! Eating the prawn cakes with the sauce was a good match!

I like both the dishes equally well and I'm glad I decided to follow along even though I wasn't hungry, if not i would've missed out on trying tese 2 dishes!

Green Papaya Salad with Shrimp Flakes
It is mildly spicy, sour, sweet - all at the same time. This salad stimulates your tastebuds and it makes a great start to a meal.

 Deep-fried Whole Garoupa Fish
The batter is not thick and floury, and is just right. The flesh is tender and soft but I find it rather bland. The chilli dip provided is a great complement to the fish as it brings out the taste.

The Phad Thai or Thai style stirfried rice stick noodles ($10.50++) is one of the staple dishes by which to judge the quality of a Thai restaurant. Siam Kitchen's version is on the pricey side but it came with a fair amount of seafood - shelled shrimps, s pringy squid & slices of deepfried dory fish. What would have been a promising dish was marred by the chef's tardiness:1) the dried rice sticks should be soaked in water till soft and drained before being stirfried. At this outlet the noodles w

The Phad Thai or Thai style stirfried rice stick noodles ($10.50++) is one of the staple dishes by which to judge the quality of a Thai restaurant. Siam Kitchen's version is on the pricey side but it came with a fair amount of seafood - shelled shrimps, s pringy squid & slices of deepfried dory fish. What would have been a promising dish was marred by the chef's tardiness:
1) the dried rice sticks should be soaked in water till soft and drained before being stirfried. At this outlet the noodles were not soaked and rehydrated prior to frying so the noodles were hard and undercooked.
2) the noodles are fried with fish sauce to produce a non spicy dish that is suitable for kids, with chilli flakes and sliced birdseye chilli served on the side, leaving it to the diner to customize the dish to his desired level of spiciness. But the chef at thisbranch added chilli directly to the noodles during the frying process, and had too heavy a hand at it, so we were left with teary eyes and numb tongues after just a mouthful and had to reach for iced water straightaway.
3) chef forgot to add chopped preserved radish which, along with the fish sauce, define the taste of Phad Thai.

I have ordered the Lunch Set Meal which comes with a Meal, Tom Yum Soup, Fried Otah and Mango Salad. It costs $12.80++. The meal that I have ordered is the Green Curry Chicken Fried Rice, the chef actually fried the rice together with green curry and chicken. I must say that it makes the taste of the green curry lighter. Also I do have a hard time taking out the curry leave while eating. However, the tenderness of the chicken and aroma of the green curry do enhance the whole experience there.I

I would encourage people to order the meal which costs $9.50++ instead of the whole set meal as the fried otah tastes normal, the tom yum soup is slightly too sour and the mango salad is just a normal fried stripes of mango which do not have any mango taste.

The environment is pretty good as it's pretty quiet even during lunch time.

Went to Siam Kitchen for lunch on a weekday; forgot to take photos of what we ate but managed to snap a photo of those that we couldn't finish and the friendly staff helped us pack the takeaway. We had the Siam Siam Frill Combo Platter ($22.90) which comes with chicken (quite tender), beef, prawns (a little too dry), and squid - your average bbq grill. We also had the Pandan Leaf Wrapped Chicken ($7.90), quite oily, didn't like it.

We headed to Siam Kitchen which located at level 2 of Bugis Junction for the food trail.The foods are served immediately after we are seated as we were competing the time to finish all the foods stops. Nevertheless, the foods are still served hot condition.  Thai Mixed Salad with NZ Beef Fillet- $8.50. The beef fillet was nicely sliced and i would prefer to have it with plain rice because of it’s salad sauce and it is quite filling too if you ever start this for appertizer. This is base on my own opinion though.

 I always love fried fish as it gives me a crispy taste on the outer and soft in the inner. Deep Fried Whole Garoupa Fish -$23.90 was just nice for me. It was presented in chunks and deep fried in golden yellow colour. Thumbs up!

 Next we have the Siam Siam Grilled Combo Platter -$22.90. Loving presentation and best to share among 2-3 people. The platter was nicely grilled and it looks tempting. I loved the taste of the grilled chicken as it tasted juicy and grill taste. The beef texture was tender and it was best eat with the sauce prepared. As for the prawn, i didn’t tried but other blogger commented it taste juicy.

 Overall the environment is good and the foods are decent. As for the price wise, it is quite affordable to dine in. If you are thai cuisine lovers, you might want to drop by to give it a try. You must try their grilled items and i think their grilling foods are delicious. It gives me the taste of BBQ-ing them by myself *self-imaginations*.

PS:I have divided into individual portion. Price do not reflect real quantity.

The tomyum soup was oh-wow-spicy. Generous amount of seafood were included into the spicy tomyum broth. Despite being really spiced, the tomyum soup never forgets to have a sour taste too!

 Deep Fried Whole Garoupa Fish with Chilli Dip/Mango Sauce $23.90

Firstly, I really thought the presentation of this is really aesthetically pleasing.
I'm pretty sure $23.90 is also reasonable for a big dish like this, with very fresh and tender fish slices, that are not coated with thick flour. Now I'm craving for this!

 Siam Siam Grilled Combo Platter $22.90
Grilled seafood platter, special mention goes to the grilled squid. It is not tough at all and it allows easy chewing. The beef cubes were medium rare and again it isn't too hard for a soft-food-lover like me. paired it with the two sauces to gave it an extra tangy/spicy taste.

Overall, SiamKitchen has their own unique and different dishes of their own that are different from the other thai restaurants that I've been to. Unforgettable dishe that is worth coming back for is definitely the Grilled Combo Platter.

The food is great, when you eat it you really feel like you are immersed in the world of Thailand as you travel through the places and ride on elephants. Oh wait that is in India. But you get my point.It is just spicy enough which suits my tastebuds like a glove. Amazing! And what is more it is in the central location of Bugis so it is easier to fly to the amazing Thailand.

The Food

 The stir-fried kailan with salted fish is Ok. Well, it's just the normal stir-fried vegetables that you could get from any restaurant I assume. Phad Thai rice noodle seafood ($10.50) tastes Ok, the texture of the rice noodles very well-done though. Apart from the rice noodles, Pad Thai here also have the glass noodle option, which I guess worth to try.

Initially I did not have much appetite when I stepped into siam kitchen however after drinking the tom yum soup, my appetite came back. The tom yum soup is very sour and spicy. I think it is the sourness that help me get back my appetite. There were a lot of seafood in it as well. their seafood is really fresh too.

 i really like siam kitchen’s tom yum soup. it really whets your appetite.
