This brand needs no introduction but having recently visited their Bugis+ outlet after my last dinning experience with them which has been many years back, I was equally surprised at the quality of the buffet vis-a-vis its price.During these hard-times, buffets are no longer the same. We have to select the food which is then delivered to us. Service was good as the items were delivered very quickly. The soups are still the same as I use to remember it - tasty! Kudos to Sukiya for being able to retain the quality of food. I filled myself with countless servings of small and large cubes of beef. Didn't find the pork slice that great but the beef more than made up for it. Vegetables were fresh and service was good at this outlet.Sukiya has never been known for its spread of its buffer offerings but what can we expect for this price level? I thoroughly enjoyed my dinning experience and I told myself that I will be back more often.  繼續閱讀

Full Suki-Ya review here: http://ivanteh-runningman.blogspot.sg/2014/11/suki-ya.htmlOperating under the Creative Eateries Group of companies, Suki-Ya is their Japanese hot pot buffet concept, offering unlimited all-you-can-eat meats and vegetables for a reasonable price. In particular, Suki-Ya, as its name suggests, specialises in the Japanese style Shabu-Shabu and Sukiyaki, both of which consist of boiling thin slices of meat. Prices are similar to other buffets, budget about SGD $37 per person for a meal here.Ambience at Suki-Ya is distinctly Japanese, with decor resembling a Japanese guest house. Furniture and wall panelling is wooden, with distinct Japanese grid squares. Traditional lanterns and sake casks line the entrance. The only break from the overall ambience at Suki-Ya is the Healthy Salad Bar, which looks like a typical buffet spread.Service at Suki-Ya is good, but not outstanding. Staff are efficient are taking orders, as well as serving, clearing dirty or empty plates, and are friendly and polite. However, it's difficult to attract their attention during peak periods, and they also forgot several of my orders during my visit. Bill payment is also self-service, at the cashier. But I like that staff are able to make recommendations on the various soup bases.Food at Suki-Ya is buffet style, with staff serving you the selection of meats you order, while vegetables and non-meat items are self service at the Healthy Bar. The only meats available are beef, chicken, or pork, all thinly sliced, with a noticable absence of fish and seafood. The salad bar is decent, with a wide range of vegetables, which are often replaced with other varieties of items when it runs out. As for soup bases, I suggest getting the traditional Japanese soups, for authenticity.I particularly like the Spicy Miso Tare Sauce, or Soy Bean Paste Sauce, which has a savoury base with a hint of spicy heat. The Garlic Chili Sauce is also very good, fiery and fragrant! The Sukiyaki soup base is a dark brown, savoury and sweet base of soy sauce, wherein the sweetness is more prominent. Meat cooked in Sukiyaki is usually dipped in a mixture of beaten raw egg with soy sauce, before being eaten. The Touyu Miso soup base is a clear white, savoury base of miso, popular during winter. The soup tends to foam during cooking, and meat cooked in Touyu Miso is usually dipped in a mixture of white sesame sauce / Goma Tare, before being eaten. 繼續閱讀

A kind of Hot Pot steamboat experience, Suki-ya was now offered in Buffet style. Four soup bases in the list, I opted for the Shabu-shabu. I still remember last time I was taking Suki-Yaki and Touyu Miso, they were both decently famous. The price was $21.90++ during dinner, additional $2.00 if having it at weekends. Unlimited Premium Meat provided yet we had to watch out our time, only 100 minutes was given.Eat as much as I can, I was excited with the dishes fully occupied at our table. I cannot say their ingredients displayed at the bar were all healthy, because most of them were frozen foodies. Anyway, the important thing was delicious for me. I was enjoying the pot with my DIY dipping sauce, Beef, Chicken and Pork were obviously fresh and filling. Reasonable price, their service, ambience and food-quality were all up-to standard. 繼續閱讀

If you are looking for something filling and not very sinful, try this steamboat buffet! This outlet at Bugis+ is quite big but the table arrangement is quite poor. At times 3 person has to squeeze into a 2 person table. After getting our ingredients from the buffet counter, there is not much space to place them on our table. There are a few soup bases for you to choose and you can try 2 out of the few choices! I usually order the Soya Sauce and the Kimichi soup bases. The food taste better after boiling in them. I love their beef and pork that are thinly sliced and being cooked in a matter of seconds! Before putting it into your mouth, dip them into a bowl of sesame sauce which you can request from the waiter or waitress. The combination is great and I just can't stop cooking another slice and another slice... .... 繼續閱讀

This “House of Hot Pot” is designed to offer heart-warming dining experiences at equally endearing prices. We enjoyed unlimited, top-quality beef, pork and chicken that are oh-so-delicious in their own right. Another highlight of Suki-Ya is its vegetable bar featuring a wide variety of fresh vegetables to round up the meal with a healthy touch. Along with sumptuous soups and broths, dining at Suki-Ya is bound to perk up everyone’s taste buds! 繼續閱讀
